LET'S TALK ABOUT EVERYONE'S FAVORITE TWO HOUR AD! AKA breakfast club with super powers, AKA one of my fave movies of all time



basically, mmpr 2017 focuses way more on the kids (they don't even get into the suits until almost the end!) and i think the movie benefits enormously from that. it didn't do super well in the box office, but it's selling merch pretty decently, so if all goes well we might get a sequel :D

billy is my fave, but i legitimately adore the entire cast. they're all so sweet and genuine and good, and i adore seeing them come together as a group and how deeply they care for each other at the end. i'm a sucker for that kind of emotional bonding, yo

 

I have only one word for this movie: gay.

i'm SO glad they took out the jason/kimberly kiss, because trini and kimberly's donut date is way cuter and trini/kimberly jason/billy has so much better chemistry, imo

AND ANOTHER THING
i really like that, even though the actors (who were all wonderful, and portrayed their characters beautifully) weren't actually teens, the characters all acted and felt like teenagers
i mean yeah it was glamorized but a lot of the shit felt like dumb teens being dumb and i loved it, that these characters felt like people, like teens, before they felt like super heroes
