Okay. I've been wanting to make a bloodswap literally for years. And I think now might be the perfect time to do it. Homestuck is back with the epilogue, and a lot of people are upset over it. Upset over characterization, upset over headcanons, upset over really messed up things happening. So while Homestuck is on a lot of people's mind, not everyone is very happy with the state of the canon right now. So why not an AU, then? Keep the characters we all know and care about, change their circumstances enough to affect the course of the plot, start writing and see what happens. I've toyed with this idea long enough. Time to start putting things on paper. Feel free to ask questions, make suggestions, tell me how much a nerd I am for doing this, etc.
Pre-work 1: The Swap. This story will swap the trolls in pairs. Aradia - Karkat Tavros - Gamzee Sollux - Terezi Nepeta - Vriska Kanaya - Feferi Equius - Eridan The Kids will each be swapped as well. For example, Aradia is the Maid of Blood and Jade is the Witch of Breath. They will also keep their canon chumhandle initials, but the actual words will change. The exceptions are Jade and John- Jade will change from GG to EB, and John will retain his original initials of GT.
Pre-work 2: Character Bios. The format I have in mind for the character bios, and what information is necessary for them, is something I've pondered since day one. However, this has actually become easier thanks to the introduction of Hiveswap. All character bios will consist of the following: Name Title Screen Name/Chumhandle And three Troll Call style tidbits of information. Once I have all these established for everyone, I can expand on it as necessary while still having enough information available for people to jump in.

Added sample character bios for Karkat and Kanaya. So, while everyone's names and titles are determined by their swaps, their chumhandles aren't. I need to work on those.
