...is a tabletop miniatures wargame by Privateer Press. It's really neat and kind of complicated; pretty much every model has special abilities and does interesting things, and they're really good at writing solid unambiguous rules. I've been painting minis for it for a while but not had anyone to play against until I managed to get seebs into it, on account of not really having transportation very available. But yeah, I'm just really happy and excited about it and wanted to make a place to squee. (also seebs we should totally take some pics of my dollies minis so that I can show them off)
Don't they also have a bunch of backstory and novels and things to flesh out the world? I think I saw some. I've been peripherally curious about them for a while; I play 40K right now, though honestly I spend more time making models and getting into the backstory / world / sundry fluff than playing. Lots of people around here (Seattle) are into Warmahordes though (I think they're from here?) so I feel I could get more games if I played that as well. Any good places you could recommend to really learn about the game and its setting?
I know they have a bunch of tie-in novels, but I haven't read any of them. The various rulebooks and books that introduce new models all have little fluff pieces in them too though, and I think their quarterly (heh) magazine No Quarter also tends to have stories in. Their website and forum are really great though, http://privateerpress.com and http://privateerpressforums.com/forum.php They seem like pretty cool people as well as having a really interesting game.

so hey! Privateer Press just announced a new edition, and I am really excited to see how it turns out! Reasonably optimistic, they're pretty good at rules generally and I don't expect anything near a GW-class debacle. :D
Well, mostly in that they haven't created too many different factions; GW's balance issues are always going to be hell because they have too many different factions with different things. Plus I'm not sure if they really care.
yeee the new 'lock for Circle Orboros just got her card spoilered, and wow! She can debuff armor and defense, and lock down movement, and bunches of neat things!
