What do you textreplace?

Word-replace browser extensions! They're funny and we love them. But it's not always easy to think of words to plug in, right?

Me, I have a few from this xkcd strip ("witnesses", "new study", and "could not be reached for comment") as well as a few I've seen around ("millennials" > "snake people", "SJW" > "skeleton warrior", "problematic" > "unclean") and, after soliciting ideas over in the Unhealthy Ships thread, "uwu" > "-slow fart-".

 

@Snitchanon posted theirs in this thread a while back, if you'd like more ideas. :)

 

For @LadyNighteyes TERF --> turf? (or possibly "astroturf" or "sod" for the pun)

I had to put spaces around "antis" to avoid messing up words like "mantis" and "antisemitism."

Since I've got the undead theme going on, replacing "TERF" with something like "super evil lich" or "zombie lord" has some appeal.

 

So far my favorites that I've done are sex ==> *panicked honk*, genitals ==> Fear Zone, and Donald Trump ==> Angry Potato Man

 

The real question is what to swap in for TWERF.

Okay, I've added "go die" > "dance like nobody's watching", "sweaty" > "lord and master", the Fighty Wankweasels one because how could I forget that, "pedos" > "artists I don't like", "pedophiles" > "artists I really hate", "TWERF" > "TWERP", "TWEF" > "big mean meaniepants".

 

So I replaced "kink" with "very naughty thing" and "fetish" with "very, very naughty thing" and well

 

What do you guys use for the text replacement? I don't have one yet, but I'm starting to think I really want one.

I got a Chrome extension imaginatively called Word Replacer II...

 

I'm using the Firefox extension FoxReplace.

 

WELL NOW I'M STEALING THAT
and now I've replaced "penis" and every common synonym thereof with "fear wand".

 

All in favor of replacing "Friendly reminder" with "passive-aggressive assertion"?

(But kind of a sad aye, because I remember when "friendly reminder" meant someone was going to talk about emotionally painful bits of canon and extrapolations therefrom.)

 

That's going to be my first one.

 

Yeah, a couple of the posts that earned me the... reputation in my user title over there < were the original sort of friendly reminder.
