Disclaimer:Just a whole lot of complaining really. It just really kinda sucks when people you talk to on a near daily basis become somewhat distant and can't/don't talk to you as much as they used to. The few friends I talk to all the time are now either in commited relationships or pursuing them and now its rare if I even get an occassional text. I mean I understand that hey you want to spend time with this person but it just kinda hurts when someone who was always there just isn't anymore. I honestly am not sure what to do with my spare time now. I have watched enough TV to see nothing but reruns now. And I just can't play video games for very long without the loneliness setting in. And I recently moved to a new area so I don't really know anyone and its really hard to deal with. I know it seems sorta selfish but I can't really help wanting my friends and their attention back. There is only so much staring at the walls and ceiling I can do ya know? Sincerely, Lonely 20 something
Depending on where you are, something like meetup.com could help you get out of the house and meet new people. You could also think about starting a project of some kind. Having something productive to do can really help with feeling lonely. Hope someone else jumps in with advice on maintaining drifting friendships, that's one I need help with, myself.
Yeah it's definitely a hard thing to deal with. Especially when you have known someone a very long time
Seconding the project thing. I took up jewelry making when I moved out cross-country. Alone. With new husband in bootcamp. Works a treat in getting your mind off things, is productive, and potential neat results! You also have this neato forum thing where you'll probably find someone to chat with about something :D
Well I took up piano lessons but I am unable to continue them while I am attending school. I think I may take up drawing again. And I am attempting to write a short novel. You are right o.o I bet I could find a really fun gaming forum
I assumed you were out of school, for some reason. Is there a club at your school you might be interested in? I hung out with the anime club and the Magic: The Gathering club when I was in high school. There's an RP section on this forum if that's something you're into, I'm sure you'll fit in there. Good luck with your novel! And the piano, if you can find time to practice and/or continue learning!
Thanks!!! Umm Its sorta a small school so we dont really have too many clubs. But me and my friends play magic in our free time. Im currently trying to make a fairie rogue deck centered around oona :P But, I did find a fun D&D forum ^_^ Right now I am just looking through trying to find interesting forums to interact with on here. My university doesnt really have much in the way of fun stuff to do so magic games happen often enough :3
