We've all worked these out for ourselves, don't deny it, but does anyone else work them out for their faves? Which ones do you favour for them, and why? My Redwall phase started at age eight and still hasn't really stopped, so naturally that's the one I picked them for first; spent some time on these a while back. I've got Martin and Rose as the Lord of Hope and Muse of Heart, and Matthias and Cornflower as their same-aspect paradox clones, the Heir and Maid. Veil Sixclaw is Thief of Doom; he stole, attempted to bring doom to his enemies, and then gave his life to save another, effectively "stealing her death". As for Hetalia, someone else got to the idea before me.
Well given that my actual fav is Porrim Maryam I already know hers. But beyond the ever so lovely Maid of Space... Glinda from Wicked is a Knight of Light. Possibly not Light but she is DEFINITELY a Knight. Girl just fucking screams Knight. In like. Every way. At least in the novel there are basically two Glindas. You have Galinda and Glinda. Galinda being the aristocratic woman who doesn't bother thinking about hard philosophical matters and who doesn't associate with lowly people like Elphaba save to mock them. This is Glinda's mask that she wears. She really, really, really wants to be this mask and does all that she can to uphold the image. Behind that though there's an insecure but incredibly clever girl. One who is aware that her blood isn't all that high and mighty and that's honestly not that great. She has a deep passion for architecture and is actually very fond of people like Elphaba. She in fact thinks that Elphaba is sexy as fuck. Super hot. The hottest. But Glinda would rather be Galinda. It's easier to be Galinda. You don't have to think about your faults and fears then. You just have to look pretty and giggle at the right times. Light I gave her because Glinda is...very preoccupied with fame and fortune. She's super image conscious and she has quite the ego. She's also not a fucking idiot. Glinda is very smart, honestly. She just tries to hide it under her immaculately styled hair.
Solas from Dragon Age is v much a Prince, though I'm not sure if the aspect is Light or something else. probs light tho, considering that it's as much about knowledge as fortune. Hawke is also a Prince, bc she can't not be considering how much goes boom around her. aspect for her is probs Breath. Tiffany Aching is a Witch of Mind, just like Granny Weatherwax before her. how else could they be the leaders that the witches don't have?
My Shepard is a Witch of Breathe, given as she changes the trajectory and fate of both the people around her and the galaxy as a whole. Madoka is Muse of Hope, being one who destroys herself to create hope. My Inquisitor, Ren, is a Maid of Doom, I'd peg Leliana is a Bard (fittingly) of Void, Josie as a Mage/Seer of Mind, Cole a Seer/Sylph of Heart, Dorian as a Knight of Time, Blackwall as the Knight of Boring, Bull as a Prince of Space, Varric as a Seer of Blood, Sera as Rogue of Light, Cass as Heir of Light, Cullen could be an Heir of Hope, Solas as Prince of Blood or Thief of Time... Note these are getting less certain as I go down.
Discworld character! Her books are Wee Free Men, Hat Full of Sky, Wintersmith, I Shall Wear Midnight, and The Shepherd's Crown.
I like that! but I disagree, bc by book five she's definitely a Witch, in both the disc and sburb senses. by the disc's rules, a witch is someone who stands at the borders, between life and death, sickness and health, story and reality, and holds them fast. sburb's rules seem to have witches as guardians, which fits the disc's definition, but w the added caveat that they push the boundaries of their aspect. and that's literally what she does in every book. in the first book, she holds the line between her world and that of the elves, but she also defends her mind, her brother's and Roland's from their tricks. book two sees her defending the borders of her own "self" and Mind, which leads to her having other beings' memories. book three is her drawing the line between winter and summer, and pulling their personifications from the bounds of folklore into reality. four is her defending her own mind once more, as well as everyone else's, and defending reality from the hate people carry in their hearts. the last book sees Tiffany Spoiler: Shepherd's Crown spoilers finding an elf who tries to be good, and convincing the other witches to accept a boy to train as one of them. every book, she's shown expanding the limits of what people perceive as possible, which is what I understand a Witch of Mind to be 38D
We put Jame as Prince of Hope in WT, and I think the reasoning holds (provided one ditches the idea that classes are gender-locked). Prince is a destroyer, and that's Jame's role. She is there to break what needs to be broken. And she wields hope as a weapon. She brings hope to others and drives back the darkness with it. She understands and channels belief and its power. And she carries a white weapon of destruction, the Ivory Knife, the very tooth of death whose merest touch will kill.
Hetalia's Hungary is definitely a Knight, IMO, and Prussia may be one too. Austria's something more passive, maybe Seer or Heir. Bart Simpson I'm thinking of as a Thief of Breath, if one takes the "Breath = freedom" view. As an unexpected out-of-wedlock baby and a massive troublemaker he got in the way of his parents' freedom, and he keeps on stealing freedom from Sideshow Bob. Then again, would that fit Bard of Breath better?
But Hawke doesn't so much tend to be the cause of all the stuff blowing up as somebody who keeps getting sucked into conflicts other people start. It probably depends a lot on player choices, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who settled on Witch of Mind for Granny. Nanny is probably Blood if we go by the interpersonal connections theory, and Agnes/Perdita is definitely a hero of Heart (splintered identity!). Sam Vimes is probably a Lord of Rage, which is a terrifying class if ever there was one. Carrot is an Heir of Hope. (There can be no doubt whatsoever about my fave-fave's god tier, because he bears an uncanny/hilarious amount of similarity to Dave Strider in an immense number of areas. Blonde, wears red, time travel, uses a sword, association with fire, hides stuff behind a mask of stoicism, thinks he's less heroic than his friends, has a terrible father figure who isn't actually his dad and puts him through hell to make him "stronger"... Very different demeanor and set of issues from Dave, but zero doubt about them sharing a title.)
I keep trying to figure out an Understuck session. Things aren't quite right (there's about three different potential time players, and I don't really want to divide them into separate sessions), but I know I want Sans as a Seer of Space. He is so freaking done with all these Time shenanigans, you don't even know.
I want to do a full rundown for the Persona 3/4/Ultimax2/maybe DAN casts, but there's one I can think of clearly. Teddie is a Shadow that became a sentient person. He was once a mound of empty desire within the collective human unconscious who ended up just brute-forcing a sense of want strong enough to build himself not one, but two bodies. As well as a full identity as a person, complete with a Shadow. He is a Shadow who willed himself into existence so hard, he gained a Shadow. By his very existence, Teddie has destroyed the very concept of nothing and null and destructive desire, in order to just be. He destroys nothing by existing, making him a Prince of Void.
The first question that springs to my mind is whether the protag's Wild Card mutable Persona is a sign he's a Heart player, or if Rise is the Heart one (probably of a passive class).
I'm wondering if Seer or Mair of Heart would work better with Rise? I can see both, with the Seer being a play on her scanning abilities and being one of the more emotionally-intuned members of the party (she is the person, in side drama CDs, that helps Naoto with her gender things and feeling more confident about herself and her interaction with Kanami during DAN), but Maid playing into her power gradient throughout the series and it can fit in the "one who protects/cleans up/arranges events with (aspect)" version. And with the way the series treats idols in general and the play of "I'm making people happier and healthier with my idol talents" mindset she has by the end of her social link, Maid of Heart would fit pretty well. Someone who is in charge of protecting and maintaining souls with their power?
Maid seems more fitting than Seer, I think. Fuuka, on the other hand, probably is a Seer. Maybe of Light? (I'd guess Mind for Naoto, and Nanako might be a Muse. Adachi's probably a Bard.)
