@Acey and @jacktrash agreed we needed a Cake Wrecks thread, so here we go! Which are your faves? Ever sent any in?
I think my personal faves will always be the Missed Marks, like this and this. Literal LOLs come a close second. What's your fave category?
https://www.cakewrecks.com/ the main page, for convenience. @ChelG are there categories? i can't find a list, or any sort of organization really. i usually just meander.
There isn't a tags page, but there are tags at the bottoms of the posts. They're a bit easier to navigate on the old Squarespace site.
Post the pics of your faves and comment on them here too! Cake Wrecks is also the source of the penguin Bill Cipher cookie I brought to Out of Context Quotes.
I think my faves are Wrong Bumblebee (especially since in the comments the mother of the birthday boy points out that the wreckerator KNEW who Bumblebee was and decided this was an acceptable substitute since they were out of the toys), the smiley face mummies, Inspiration versus Perspiration, and "Super Bowel Go Go Go" (because I am secretly five).
Also the half-cake clown here, which I remember first being brought to the old LJ community mock-the-stupid. As was pointed out by the OP there, the sad part is that if they'd simply rotated the cut about half an inch they'd have been perfectly fine.
really anything involving clowns is going to be at least slightly terrifying unless it's a pierrot or columbine
Also, here's my fave of their occasional song posts. Pity they never recorded anyone actually singing that like they did with some others.
These got posted as wrecks, but I think they're awesome. Not particularly appetising, but awesome. Oakland, California apparently took a tip from Soviet Russia and had cakes that eat you.
So what are people's thoughts on cupcake cakes? I don't think I've ever seen one here in the UK, but my local supermarket gets all its cakes pre-decorated at the factory and therefore a lot less horrifying. Though I am somewhat irritated by the narwhal-shaped cake which puts its tusk in the middle of its forehead.
