Smart Bitches Trashy Books has their regular Cover Snark, and I couldn't find a thread for similar fun here, so here we go. I'll break the ice with this... thing which caught my eye. This appears to be two children's heads on adult's bodies, though my sister thinks the girl's face is that of a Teresa doll with creepy glowing eyes, with their outfits and hair drawn on over the top and cartoon crystals in the girl's hand. Note that the most white-looking kid of the two is the one wearing a dollar-store Native American costume, and the characters according to the blurb are supposed to be kids so I don't know why he's so ripped, and the costume exposing his hips and probably his butt is incredibly creepy. The background is a Van de Graaf generator and the foreground is... possibly an incredibly over-filtered stone archway? Naturally, I bought the book immediately.
Look closely at the guy's hand. SBTB: "They totally photoshopped out a guitar, and photoshopped babies in."
Honestly i feel like every cover of animorphs belongs in here, but especially this one: Spoiler: Big img
i literally avoided reading animorphs when i was a little kid because the cover designs wigged me out so much lmao (these days i don't read it because of various other reasons, but that was the start)
That baby is all hecks of pastede on yay, if that meme's still known anywhere, and it's totally going to hate its parents for that outfit in about ten years. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THAT POOR CHILD'S LEGS
That's just something babies like to do with their legs. It's a normal position for newborns, helps them stretch and develop or something. In yoga, doing that with your legs is sometimes called "happy baby" pose.
I know babies pull their feet up, but I suspect those are a different baby's feet. It's hard to tell, but I think the big toes are towards the viewer rather than the baby.
