Pretty much, and even that gets screwed with because the heroes and their families are rat-mouse hybrids (which are genetically impossible, FYI, but given that canon includes weasel-ferret hybrids - which can't crossbreed in real life either, different chromosome numbers - we can probably actually allow that. Funny how that's one of the okay bits).

I will happily bitch about both him and the awful pornography for weeks if allowed. My original sporkings of the awful pornography were done when I was a late-blooming teen and mostly consisted of "ew kinky sex", much to my embarrassment now, but there's still enough to pick at.

I'd almost be willing to believe it, except that JKR isn't much good at research about other countries, and the finer details of teenage American mall-goth subculture, including a fixation on a store that doesn't exist in the UK, would probably require it. :::PPP

 

What if that's partly why the American HP stuff is a bit of a hot mess though? Because she wasted all her time researching mid-00's mall-based counterculture and now she's a master of My Chemical Romance but can't remember which First Nation had lore involving wampus.

We were this close to her just giving up and having house Gerard Way instead of awkward racism. Man, 2016 just takes and takes.

 

Here's the fic! Someone is currently liveblogging it on some chat I'm in, and trust me, it's awesome in the absolutely terrible way.

 

so, when i was 14 there was this naruto sporking livejournal group called the fanfic ninja (i think?). my typing speed was still like 3/wpm back then but i thought i was very hot shit, so i applied to be a sporker, got accepted, and then excitedly sporked the hell out of... an intentionally bad fic. not only was it intentionally bad, but it was a well known parody. not only that, but the author was part of the sporking community. not only that, she sporked my sporking.

i don't think i have ever in my whole life been as devastatingly embarrassed as i was the day after i made that post.

 

I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this, but the epidemic of kidnapped baby vampires and the lives of vampire children being raised in Muggle families would make a much more interesting story than what My Immortal was actually about.

 

Homestuck High is a treasure, and so is Learning And Sburbing, which I still need to finish but is fucking incredible from what I've read (and, by all accounts, is genuine).
