For various and convoluted reasons, I obtained a "new" toaster today. "New" because I picked it up at the thrift store and spent much of the afternoon cleaning it. It's a pretty nice T-Fal branded one and it makes excellent toast. Anyway, rather than shit up the other transparency thread, I hereby report: It makes excellent toast I still have not taken any moderator actions

You know it's funny because I also recently got a toaster. Our old toaster did not seem to have reached clarity on whether or not the middle heating elements should, say, become hot in some way. The new one is much more even. Hooray.

Seebs, it sounds like you're really unreasonably prejudiced against unheating heating elements, and it's causing me some concern over your ability to run this forum and deal with the heating elements on here in a fair and balanced manner

Is there a certain kind of bread for toasting or are you using "toasting bread" as a catch all for bread that is to be toasted?
It has two of the big long slots and has BAGEL DEFROST REHEAT and TOAST settings. Also a digital readout because why-the-fuck-not?
