Regarding Soundwave, I like exRiD 21-22 and Spotlight: Megatron in context of each other. Spoiler ExRid 22, before the war and I think just before Soundwave officially became a Decepticon: Yeah, you could say some question it. ExRiD 21, a couple decades before the full-scale invasion of Earth: Oh Soundwave. So you don't need him to like you, you just need him to be honest? Even though he just lied about trusting you. Spoiler: LL8 I am kind of apprehensive about this one. On the one hand, the last two issues have been kind of full of unrelenting misery and aborted character growth. On the other, this issue was teased as being a) female character-centric and b) containing deep lore, so there's no way I'm not going to read it. Permanently. Ok, I'm aware my otp is more of a bathysphere right now but that story so far page is a little harsh. Caminus! Which has trees and flowers? Nice to see more of Nautica and Velocity's relationship, it's kind of been downplayed in favour of her interactions with Skids and Brainstorm so far. I would have thought that a more reliable way to get a new map would be to sit Rodimus down with some pens and a really boring report, but Nautica could probably get a lot out of visiting the bereavement capital of the galaxy right now. ...or maybe not. Well, we've got a new contender for the most unfortunate alt mode. Five symbols. The guiding hand? Why does he need blacksmiths if hasn't been an active hot spot for eons? Ah. That's why he needs blacksmiths, and why he'd pay so much for sentio matallico. So those are the prepare, confront, repel faction. Kind of thought they'd be more secretive rather than actually ruling a planet, but this is interesting - I'm kind of inclined to think now that they're successors to one of the knightly clans rather than a deception offshoot. I'm kind of expecting them to try and recruit Anode rather than kill her outright Nautica. Nautica. WTF are you doing. Surely there were other places you could have kept that.
Spoiler: LL08 There is very early canonical confirmation that the Knights Of Cybertron are the Guiding Hand minus Mortilus and their earliest "children" spreading peace and civilization through the universe after they struck Mortilus down! I believe it's mentioned in Cyclonus' recitation of the creation myth. Spoiler: the wiki says: The Knights of Cybertron are fabled as the original children of Primus and the other four gods of the Guiding Hand, making them the original Cybertronians. Religion says that after the god, Mortilus, warred with the others ten million years ago, the early Transformers were rendered immortal and wise, and formed the Knights. After creating a paradise on their homeworld, they then left Cybertron to spread enlightenment throughout space, riding living city-ships called Titans (You, Me, and Other Revelations) that included the likes of Metroplex (The Reluctant Specialist) and the future Necrotitan. (Homecoming) The Knights were said to have ruled from the Halls of Order. (Ruins) Following the Knights' departure, Cybertronian society splintered into the Thirteen Tribes led by the Thirteen Primes, eventually leading to the First Cybertronian Civil War. I mean what has been said seems to be basically "The guiding hand made the first Cybertronians (aka they had kids), then mortilus got killed, then the knights of cybertron all left to spread the guiding hands' gifts across the entire universe after making cybertron a good place" Which yknow. Means that basically for all we know it's pretty likely that the Knights of Cybertron are split into factions along who their parent is and >:3c there's a lot of possibilities there.
