same, but this isn't a well made representation of an axe. it's literally the worst representation of a weapon i have ever seen. It's physically painful for me to look at.
Quick question is that a "No one except German LARPers is this dedicated to pouring absolutely ridiculous levels of work into the nerdiest hobby known to mankind" thing or is it As Bad As I Think It Is, in that you can buy a completely acceptable and good looking fiber-glass-core-foam-and-latex axe for like fifty bucks online if you just Aren't That Guy? because.... like.....................
... I... there is no rating that can describe the unholy combination of full-body-cringe and helpless gigglefit i just had.... seebs fix this i need the rating. and a word for the rating to be because I sure as hell can't come up with one
This weapon was made for a game that's basically an offshoot of my game. This weapon is so poorly made that if it came on my field I wouldn't allow the person to use it, ever. It shows the bare minimum, and I mean it sets a new record low for weapons I've seen, bare minimum of effort put into it. It also displays a skill level of someone who should not be allowed to use safety scissors unsupervised. It looks like it was made in 15 minutes, in the dark, by someone with three fingers per hand. The Europeans go hard. Their shit is gorgeous, and I only wish I had the time, energy, money, or dedication to put that much work into style or authenticity. They probably wouldn't recognize this as an attempt at a weapon.
My pal... if you hadn't said it was supposed to be one I would have assumed it was some really weird backscratcher ngl. like fuck i buy basically at LARP Dollartree for my shit and even *then* my weapons look like The Actual Thing They're Supposed To Be (I'm not making weapons myself yet bc I have nowhere to do latex coating without like dust or garden detritus getting into it??? and also bc carving foam with exacto knives and scalpels is a bad idea if ur clumsy af) (... does mytholon ship to other places??????? bc the weapons are reasonably cheap and they look v much Off The Rack but they're pretty cute most of the time......)
Our game is a little different than yours, I guess. Most of our weapons don't really... look like weapons. We're a boffer sport more than a larp, so we do the whole pool noodle on a stick type thing. (it's a little different from that, but in the direction of better materials, not better appearance.) We have some that look like something approaching a medieval sword, but for the most part they look like bats. But shit, we put effort into making them safe, balanced, and clean looking. This look like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
fair, fair! I heard that's also more the norm over in other places that aren't Europe, hence why I asked if it's a "Europeans have no chill" or a "no seriously it's as bad as you think" thing :P We do have a LARP thread somewhere I should post pictures once the first of this year's con are posted, though there aren't that many of me doing cool shit bc I play a scribe exclusively right now, my hollering barber/pirate/faery shitbaby will be undusted in april at the earliest.
...why? People buy meat from strangers around here all the time, we have literal door to door meat salesmen and everything
i imagine it's the difference between buying it from someone you can look in the eye as they take it out of their suitcase, and buying meat off of craigslist that has been "gently used"
I mean, I only skimmed the article, but I think it had a lot to do with random people not following any sort of safety/cleanliness guidelines?
Thats true, im just used to people with their own meat from their farms driving around selling what doesnt make it to the stores. We dont usually buy cause it comes in huge amounts for a family and not everyone has the freezer space
