Salt in small quantities goes with chocolate, not vanilla Like, chocolate or nutella dipped mini pretzels are good. salted vanilla ice just sounds weird.
salt goes with everything stop being wrong :PPP (the reason is that both sugar and salt are flavor enhancers for the other Majority flavor. anything sweet to sweetish is done well with a pinch of salt, especially if you get fun about it and do things like vanilla or lavender salt, wine salt, etc. olive oil actually makes a really good base for sweets, and the round umami flavor can enhance notes of vanilla greatly. If you have a very sharp high quality olive oil it's a lot more like a proper condiment rather than just It's Oil Fam too. But it's hard to get like Genuine Tuscan Trattoria Olive Oil for the proper amount of punch in the nose sharp if you aren't sitting at the source. and no i will not back off on this sicily can suck it with their less intense bigger olives. :P)
olive oil rapidly thickens below room temperature! like, really fast. if you put it in your fridge it'll turn solid.
Not the best thing in the world, I think straight up chocolate sauce is supreme, but not anywhere NEAR the ballpark of oil. So like. Valid.
This! It's Mexican chocolate syrup. They add a little cinnamon with dark chocolate. It is divine. Their main selling item is hot coco mix, though.
I doubt this will be controversial, but I can't think of a better place to post this. Never, ever get passionfruit gelato on a waffle cone. Separately, those two things are amazing. Passionfruit gelato is amazing, all tangy and fruity with the seeds making enjoyable crunchy bits, and waffle cones are toasty waffly crunchy goodness. Put the two different kinds of crunch together, however... and it feels exactly like breaking a tooth. First the deep rumbling crunch of the cone, followed by the squeaky crunch of the seeds, it's exactly like a molar breaking and the jagged bits scraping across enamel. I happened across this a few months after breaking a tooth, and even knowing what was happening, every single bite left me frantically checking to see if I'd done it again. Not cool. Not cool AT ALL.
im in canada and im told it exists Edit: im sorry that was snarky, what is the situation with in n out burgs
In n out is extremely Good. Second best burger I've ever had, and they have fries I'll actually eat. Their shakes are good too.
As a born and bred Californian I of course swore the In n Out Blood Oath when I was but a child. God I wish I could have milkshakes.
I can only assume that the In-and-Out in my town was the world's shittiest version, because it was a couple steps down from Five Guys and a couple steps up from McDonalds and either way, definitely not worth the drive-thru line it always had.
