    Update:
Good news: The asbestos is, apparently, just a strip of tape on one of the ducts. So that should be easy to remediate quickly, or to fix so that it's safe. And it's a duct pipe that's in an area we wouldn't be accessing normally anyways.
Bad news: The landlord is trying to claim that they completely redid the bathroom, which is one of the places where the inspector found mold (right under the toilet). So, y'know, bullshit they completely redid it. :/ At least we know now, though, and we'll get dehumidifiers and other stuff to make sure there isn't any excess humidity building up in the house.

Good news: done moving! All that needs doing now is unpacking and sorting out where stuff goes.
Bad news: Jegus fuck, we have so much to unpack. Also it is cold as balls, and it's not gonna get warmer anytime soon - we've got the thermostat cranked, but the heater can only do so much when the windows and balcony door don't have any curtains to keep the heat from going right through the glass.
Good news: we're making pretty steady progress with the unpackening! And crucial stuff is getting found, like the can opener and clean utensils, and dish soap.
Bad news: In addition to curtains for pretty much every room that's going to be in use, we also need lamps for all those rooms because the only rooms that have overhead lighting are the bathroom, the stairwell, the kitchen, and the basement. This means that the living room gets dark as hell, once the natural light goes for the day and my room is currently so dark that I cannot really see the cat curled up next to me. Also it's cold. Have I mentioned it's cold?
Good news: new neighbourhood is cute, my parents sent me Hannukah money that I'm gonna use on quilting supplies, and the cats are doing okay (asides from being bored and restless with being confined till it's safe to let them out).

bad news: my old computer is almost certainly fubar

good news: we have a computer in FANTASTIC condition save for needing a new hard drive, and my dad is finding 2-3TB hard drives for very good prices, so i might end up with a nicer computer with more storage in the end

Bad: Friend 2 (dad of the cats i keep posting in the cat thread) had to get his appendix out yesterday after sudden abdominal pain

Good: they apparently caught it very early in its problem-causing, and they do it laparoscopically(sp?) now so it took like an hour and a half total, and he only has 3 tiny incisions to heal. Also he got to go home today

Bad: hes american, this is canada, his spouse is canadian but his (eta: Friend 2's) status is up in the air rn so i dunno how much they have to pay :(

Bad news: My old phone died horribly!
Good news: I got a new phone on Tuesday!
Bad news: I sprained my ankle getting into the car on our way home from getting said phone, by way of slipping while stepping off the curb (Dad was parallel parked against a sidewalk).
Good news: It seems to be healing decently fast and it doesn't hurt as much anymore!
    Bad news: HIDEOUS BRUISING

Good news: Have settled in pretty well, and am doing good.
Bad news: Turns out that the GI issues I was having before the move weren't just stress, since I had the exact same symptoms a few days ago after eating a bowl of cheerios for breakfast.
Good news: I'm in a supportive environment and my family wants me to be healthy, so mom is helping me do an exclusion diet to test if my body's decided whether it's gluten that's the enemy or if it's dairy.
Bad news: Can't eat chocolate while I'm excluding dairy, unless I'm lucky and it's a type of chocolate that has no dairy in it, and the gluten exclusion process is going to be a bitch and a half because of how much shit has gluten in it.
Good news(?): I suspect the issue is dairy, not gluten, but I'm going off of "symptom flare-up after we trialled pancakes for breakfast this morning" and that might not be a good indicator of anything since my period also started today. Also I kinda...really want it to be dairy, since there's options for a dairy intolerance or allergy - there really isn't any option for a gluten intolerance short of "avoid all gluten Forever".

Bad: my mom and sister had business in Dallas (which is a 4-5 hour round trip, and took sis' fiance with them, leaving me with the dogs. Alone. Fam then went several fun places after, and my mom splurged on a bunch of very expensive small salads and other treats for me. By the time they got back, everything had spoiled and soured.

Good: instead of moping i ate the rest of the lavender ice cream and cherry cordial icecream for dinner and watched a john mulaney show that id been putting off, it was good.

Just to inform: there was no one here to watch the dogs except me, i wasnt being excluded for malicious reasons.

Good: Went to a job fair for a local frozen dough company. Got there on time and things seemed to go well.
Bad: It wasn't an actual interview, they're just collecting resumes and will call "some" people back by next Friday.
Good: I might have a chance? Because I'm available any time, I can do shift work and all the other requirements, and I'm willing to do part-time work. And it'd be really good money if I get the job.
Bad: I...might not get called back for the interview, because my resume doesn't really have anything to point to "I can/am willing to do general labour at a manufacturing plant".

Bad news: I'm working Saturday and Sunday in a row, but routine is usually one or the other. It's like doing a social plus sensory hell for several hours, and now I have to do that twice in a row. Idk, I'm probably being a baby

Good news: I'm getting a bed! A real honest to God bed, with a frame and everything! It'll be here by Monday, I'm so excited!
