I’m reminded of the fact that Assman is a real surname. Pronounced more like AHS-mahn iirc, not like...ass man, but...

(And I distinctly recall reading a Wikipedia article about an Assman whose first name was Dick. Yes, seriously.)

  7. TwoBrokenMirrors

    TwoBrokenMirrors onion hydration

This isn't a name that's unfortunate so much as it sounds... fake, like someone made it up to belong to the Quintessential Lower-Class Everyman. But as far as I know, Fred Plog is real and was involved in a book (I can't remember if wrote, illustrated, edited or otherwise contributed, but he was involved)

i might have read too many fantasy books, because that name doesn't seem too bad to me

a little more odd for meatspace names but not as bad as i was expecting

    am i missing something?

I’m mostly confused by how that’s even supposed to be pronounced. Not as bad as some I’ve seen, and it really wouldn’t look out of place in a fantasy setting, but I’d say it’s a bit over the top for an actual human, personally.

Back on topic, and speaking of “unique” spellings, I don’t think I shared this one: I know someone named Kate-Lynn. Yes, hyphenated.

Understandably, she just goes by Katie.
