A Love Square Between Two People [Miraculous Ladybug]

Supers and Villains need unique names, and this show goes the route of making all the names too lame to ever be repeated. Can't be stepping on any toes with Ladybug and Black Cat and Butterfly. Or Hawk Moth.

 

Hawkmoth reminds me of this, and Papillon of that other memetic video of the times of bad cgi, so either way he's ruined as a villain for me.

And then they went and gave him the same voice actor that did Fairly Oddparent's Cosmo, so. I mean, Guilherme Briggs is a really good voice actor, and he does sound nice as HM, but... it's Cosmo.

 

I started watching this series! It's really cute, though I'm on the fourth (Lady WiFi episode) and... why does Alya think Chloe is Miraculous Ladybug? She saw Chloe leave school like 2 minutes before hearing that Ladybug had saved Paris again, so there's a contradiction.

 

You know, I get that they didn't want to have to come up with new animation models, but it doesn't make sense that the artist guy's superhero imagining of himself had the Papillon mark on his face already.

I wish they would have done a model of him without the mask, because then it would just look like Papillon was recycling his design, but, yeah. :/

I found a youtube playlist but a lot of episodes are missing, and I thought the show was on a hiatus anyways...

 

http://miraculousubs.tumblr.com/ is the go-to place for subs! they have almost all episodes done, but have gotten a bit behind on the more recent ones due to stuffs. ThePowers3000 has some videos as well, and it's usually possible to find them on youtube pretty easily. as for episode order, this one is the most streamlined imho.

 

Okay so I have watched Many Episodes of this show, but not all of them yet so I have been staying out of this thread. BUT!! Does anyone here play Flight Rising? I'm planning a Ladybug dragon and I need input on what eye color I should go with (I'm between Ice and Lightning). HMU if you have opinions~!

Also: This show is extremely cute and I love it.

 

Watching a subbed version of episode 24 even though I'm not there yet because.

I need to know how bs the complaints about Volpina are.

I had an idea that maybe Marinette would be nice to Lila because she feels bad about how she treated her as Ladybug, and Lila actually ends up really good friends with Marinette while still cursing Ladybug
Another idea: Volpina ends up Akumized enough that she is able to turn the city against Ladybug and Chat Noir, setting herself up as the better "superheroine"

So now I've heard from two three people that Lila's getting flak for interfering with the main loveline. That's ... sad. I mean, I don't care for her one way or another, but I think she has the potential to be pretty interesting.

...Actually, not gonna lie, I'm dying to see what Chloe makes of her (um, assuming she stays transferred to their school and becomes a regular in season two, which I haven't heard anything about either way). Will they become the best of friends? Will they scratch each other's eyes out? Will Marinette transform into Ladybug and kidnap rescue Adrien while the two of them fight over who is totally his girlfriend? The possibilities are endless (and endlessly hilarious).

Also @Arxon if Marinette becomes friends with a Ladybug-hating Lila that would be absolutely delightful. :>

Just from the level of Lila's lies ('I met Prince Ali! Jagged Stone wrote a song about me! I know every director in Hollywood personally!') she pings me as the kind of compulsive liar who isn't malicious, but has severe self-esteem issues and possibly learned compulsive lying from a parent. How can I hate her for that?

Pathological lying is a literal mental illness. Obviously I can't diagnose a fictional character from one episode, but this DOES seem to strongly point to that. This may or may not make her a pleasant character, but using the symptoms of her mental illness to attack a female character because she may possibly interfere with your OTP rubs me the wrong way.

I've written my piece about people hating on Volpina because she batted her eyelashes in the general direction of the objectively coolest dude in class, and I agree with her compulsive lying being a potential sign of mental illness and a situation more complicated than what we can infer.

I sorta don't want her to be friends with Marinette, but that's because I want Marinette to face actual consequences and learn from her mistakes, but it would be nice if they were into a not antagonistic route - she doesnt go full weirdo as Marinette because she doesn't want to repeat the Ladybug disaster, and that starts teaching her how to control herself. yay!

 

Spoiler: one more thing

I especially wish Santa and the first star that Adrien be the one that makes an effort to be friends with Lila, even after what Ladybug did to her. he was the new kid once, and he had trouble too, it's ok, he won't judge her for making an effort the way she knew how.

i want this to be an opportunity of growth for all three of these dumb children!!! Adrien can learn to stand up for himself!! Marinette finally passes the stick up her ass and stops acting out of line!!! Lila has character development!!! everyone is happy and learned a lesson!!!

I'm thinking not, because so far the other four kawmi are really similar in shape - huge head and eyes, tiny limbs - and the peacock-ish looking thing in the safe didn't have that shape at all. Unless maybe it was facing the wrong way? IDK. I think not though.

EDIT: Except I can't actually remember what turtle kwami looks like, off to find a screencap or something.

EDIT 2: Yeah, Wayzz (?????) has the same shape.

I don't understand kwami names.

It's identical to the peacock miraculous in the opening theme! I'm pretty sure that's what it is, and the placement strongly implies Adrian's mom was the peacock miraculous holder.

It might be a replica of the peacock miraculous, like Lila's. iirc Fu had the miraculous in the box during the origin... and if Adrien's dad was interested in miraculouses because Motives, it would make sense for him to had a replica around.
