broke out some of my old favorites in mlp fansongs that i haven't listened to in ages, spent most of this morning thinking about all the ways in which mlp and its fandom were such an overwhelmingly positive, important experience to me as a smol teenager, got the warm fuzzies. i've barely touched the fandom in years and i don't doubt it's become a toxic tirefire, and i don't really have the energy at the moment to write the Huge Wordblurt on all the fundamental ways it's helped me, but i'm so glad early-'10s-era mlp fandom was there when i needed it as an abused, depressed, isolated kid with a lot of internalized bullying and shame that i had been increasingly externalizing as becoming a bully myself. i'm not just glurging when i say this show changed my life and made me a better person, and it still makes me happy to remember even if i don't watch the show anymore. <3
