TFW you fall asleep and dream it's tomorrow and then you wake up and find out it's still today. :\

 

Today was a pain in the ass involving a major fetch quest to get a new disability id for my bus pass. I was not able to actually GET the damn disability ID because I was missing a few key documents that I should have been given, but wasn't. So I had to go to the clinic.

I am still getting over the cold and lungs full of gross. I am coughing up blood, but I haven't gotten around to telling the new PMC I switched to, or the pulmonary guy. (I should but I have a default "oh it will go away eventually" response I can't really get around.) I ended up doing the "cough so hard you throw up" thing at the clinic.

I was having problems with getting AHCCCS, but was finally able to resolve the problem earlier in the week.

 

Also, I have a new mouse, and am no longer relying on the stupid laptop mousepad.

 

I have learned poutine does not involve cottage cheese. WTF, Canada Boy, WTF.

 

Groceries were done, and I was able to get the new disability ID for the bus.

I did not eat very much today, which probably a bad idea. :\ Also, my lungs hate me. (As they do every time I get a cold.)

 

I'm still not feeling well! I slept a lot, and then got a headache from sleeping too much.

A friend was able to contact me, and seems to be in a Situation. (I am slightly worried about the situation, but haven't asked about it yet.)

I was able to reorder the worn out parts of my Cpap device! I was not able to get a hold of my case manager about some meds I need refilled. (I switched my GP over to the same clinic I do psych, which means I have a new doc, who I haven't met yet.)

 

...My apartment complex is so determined to have everyone pay online that they're charging a ten dollar "processing fee" for money orders starting in March. The reason why I didn't want to pay online was because I was worried about getting overdrawn due to my complete inability to manage finances in a way that makes sense to normal people. Which is why I was using money orders. thanks @seebs

I'm reading Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells. I want to hug murderbot so much. And also Miki. (Sadly, hugging Murderbot would be too traumatic them, so maybe I'll rec fan fic instead.)

 

What I like the most about Schlock from Schlock Mercenary is that he is a perfect combination of amoral soldier type combined with equally amoral hyperactive child. Often at the same time. He is my favorite.

 

I have an apartment inspection this coming Friday, and I need to call in any necessary repairs. This means I need to do some cleaning that I've been putting off, because cleaning is Very Difficult, particularly when I'm coughing up blood. (Also, I am doing the stupid thing where if you cough, you accidentally pee yourself.)

So I have been very, very slowly cleaning the apartment, though that mostly involves at this point rearranging piles of junk. (I really need to figure out how to find the spoons for cleaning. They are probably stored in the same place as the spoons I need for making meals and so on.)

 

My bedroom lights keep going out really quickly. It's very annoying.

 

I'm reading "Humanstuck Boat Trolls" which is hella cute. Sadly, what I have isn't complete, I just have "Forces of Hornet-tude" and "Chopstick Apocalypse." I know there was some more stuff after that, but reading would involve trying to find possibly-vanished tumblrs, then back tracking through reblogs.

 

So far, I'm trying to figure out if the energy stone "Anticipate" is any way, shape, or form useful. My feel so far is "no. Why is this even a thing?"

 

It’s intended for a Tank build, which, simce there’s no way under the coli system to taunt enemies into attacking a specific dragon, is indeed basically useless.

I mean, until you get them leveled high enough to give them 3 ambush stones so you can set up Guards on the entire party and still have a turn left to hit Anticipate before the first attack, so if Guard decides to work that turn you get the Breath bonus for taking the hit.

Then it’s only half useless, because since you’ve spent all your points on HP, Defense and Initiative, ya girl hits like a weak kitten. But it’s OK cause you love her and your first coli team was an experiment anyway.

 

Snap/EBT decided to give me my amount for February early. I do not know why, and am kind of worried as a result. (Actually I suspect it has to do with the continuing government closure.)

Went to the new doctor, discovered that somehow, after my multiple attempts at making sure they spelt the name correctly, that they still hadn't figured out my previous doctor's name and not only spelt the name wrong, they inverted first and surnames. I just can't with these people. (Why did I switch over? because I don't actually *like* my previous doctor.)


I am trying to get it set up so I am getting tests at the same places I had been before. This is difficult. I have the name of the hospital now, and the address. So that's a thing.

The doctor appointment addressed my current hacking-up-the-lungs problem. I was given a steroid shot that seemed to improve my ability to breathe within an hour of having gotten the shot, and a dosepack. (Yay, steroids!)While picking up meds I also reordered all my other meds that I'd run short of because I was too busy being anxious/depressed/completely out of it.

New doctor seems nice, if also kind of a hyper puppy. (I may have been making him nervous? I don't know.) He walked in just before the shot to ask if I was allergic to meds. He was chased out of the room by the medical assistant, who assured him that yes, she already asked me. (Then she apologized for him.)

 

I have gotten very, very little writing done for the past couple months! This is mostly because of Real Life difficulties and my attempts to distract myself from said real life difficulties. So I have been mostly reading fan fic, listening to podcasts (Kevin and Ursula Eat Cheap and Productivity Alchemy) and trying to catch up on a web comic I hadn't read in three (3) years. I've also been poking around at older original writing projects that have never seen the light of day and so on.

So! I have been re-reading my own fan fic in hopes of getting some inspiration and figuring out where I'm going with the plot for each of the stories. The current WIPS I'm looking at are: Eriond: be the Rogue of Hope, two for mirth, (they flow from form to form), (glaciers melting in the dead of night) and Build a Life from Scratch. I should also be reading through Crooked Little House, but I am not, so there.

I'm not sure which of the stories I want to work on first. All of them are giving me problems in some sense, though for different reasons.

Build a Life from Scratch: Feels flat and I can't decide on a good chapter title. I have a vague idea that we're going to reveal a little more about the source of Bro's heart trauma dreams, plus some interaction/weird horrible flirting with/from GHB.

Eriond: be the Rogue of Hope: I want Signless to meet Eriond, and have them talk. I want more stuff from Relg and/or Taiba, and maybe for Belgarath to show up. (Probably walking out of the pantry like he owned the place.)

(they flow from form to form): more information gathering/teaching and Karkat's date with Light. (which is likely to go much better than his date with Heart.) I've written a little of it already and it does not seem to suck.

(glaciers melting in the dead of night): is grotty and horrible and I'm poking at my plans with this fic with sticks. (Porn. Porn with plot is where it's going, plus a battle or two and Dirk feeling Conflicted.)

two for mirth: I am stuck. It's close to being done which is why I'm stuck. I have no idea of what I'm doing and everything is terrible.

Original Fic:

I've been thinking about my "orcs are people" fic. Which is not on my journal but which I had posted on the old Baen webboard. (People seemed to like it, including Mr. Baen at the time.) It didn't get very far because like a lot of my original work, I had trouble figuring out where I was going. (This is also a problem with my fan fic.) Our Protagonist, an orc, wakes up in the middle of a snowy forest that shouldn't be where it was, and has to figure out how to find his way to a safe place. Also, there are dead people. I have several drafts of the story, which doesn't get longer than a few thousand words each time. Very frustrating, because I liked the character I created.

Eldritch Rhythm and the "Marriage Alliance Complicated by Assassination Attempt" stories are still active, though I haven't written anything since I posted the last chapters I've worked on of Eldritch.

 

Re: Flight Rising. From now on, basilisks and cockatrices will be known as "death chickens."

 

There is something going on with Patreon where they are apparently having trouble processing payments. I am not so quietly having an anxiety attack because I have 3.95 in my credit union account and NEED TO PAY MY GODDAMN RENT. (It is really hard for me to save. I get about 85 a month and most of it goes toward the subsidized rent. Then I do something stupid. Or I don't do something stupid and need to buy something and everything is stupid anyway.)
