Usually I find the idea of healthy resolutions to my trash-ships to be boring and ruin the whole point, but thinking of Mark developing the manipulator powers and role-modeling not being a total dick with them, and Damien wanting to do that so desperately if only so people won't always leave him as soon as they're clear of his influence, I sob.

But lying domineering gaslighting exploitative Road Trip Of Evil is also wonderful. I can't even decide which one I'd rather have.

 

Thank you for necromancing this thread. Someone mentioned Endangered! One of my favorite things! And Hyperion, another of my favorite things! After the first mind-breakingly horrific reveal I kept waiting to be disappointed with predictability and it never happened.

As far as trash goes, I am best pleased when an unhealthy dynamic externalizes the personal baggage of both parties while causing whole new levels of suffering. (Or all parties. I'm on board with some polytrash.) Spike and Buffy was one of the earlier notable examples I remember encountering. Now that I think about it, I never really read fanfic about it. I guess it was before my fandom days. But dynamics like that, where everyone's vulnerabilities are laid bare, nobody gets what they need, and everyone gets hurt.

Im going through aus first because original flavor sans and paps are gonna have a lot of fic (i hope?) And i wanna enjoy it in small doses.
