Animal Sightings

A teeny-tiny little yellow millipede with really long antennae. It looked like a spaghetti noodle was hauling ass up the sidewalk.

 

he is SMOL only 2 inches

 

Do you know what kind of dragons is he? Looks almost like a bebe monitor/tengu, but I don't know what area of the world you're in...

 

not a baby, this is as big as they get! there are lots of them, i see them every time i go out. very smol draggos. probably a brown anole

 

Ahh yeah, I missed his little dewlappy thing because I mistook it for scenery :P

Saw a pidgeon with different colors for once.

 

I'd forgotten that while pigeons are mostly just kind of dingy and have a bad rep, seagulls are actual assholes. A bunch of them wandered into a parking lot when I was getting groceries. One of them just stood in the middle of the lane when I was trying to drive in it; had the audacity to just look at me when I honked. The stupid things are small enough that I didn't want to just go forward with any speed because I didn't want to risk hitting the thing, but that meant that it didn't take me seriously.
Seagulls are awful.

Met a smol fren while gardening today! (it is spring and all the baby snails are hatching. I just hope the thrushes I saw last week stick around to deal with them :P)

 

Look at this tomcat that's been hanging around the apartment lately. Look at him. Look at this asshole.

 

The owner of the bike repair shop I go to has a puppy dog now
Her name is Una and she is a springer spaniel/short haired pointer cross and I gave her many many pets and scritches while waiting for my mudguard to get one of its bolts replaced

Found an open bag of old walnuts in the cabinet. Put them out on the stump for the wildlife yesterday. This morning I got to watch a crow select a twig off my apple tree then go perch on the stump and open the walnuts.

 

I love corvids. My parents have a family of ravens living nearby that are great. They often eat the small mammals that the cats catch and don't eat (shrews mostly, the cats don't seem to like the taste). They talk to each other all the time, and will talk back to you if you caw at them.

 

There was a ferret hamming it up at Petco today when I went in to refill the kitty litter bucket. Came right up to the glass to be cute directly at me, rolled over on his back and showed off his belly, curled up in a ball and looked like he was going to sleep and then opened his eyes to make sure I was still watching. Sorry guy, A+ performance but I already have two cats, can't have a longcat.

 

Dolphins and crabs at the beach. The dolphins seemed friendly enough, but got spooked by boats before they could come close. The crabs, not so much.
