I suppose that explains the one kudos at least. I was wondering what it was that person liked if there weren't any chapters.
I've had this bug hit me! Editing the fic fixed it, but it was also posted during that deadzone on AO3 when the bugs start happening with posting dates and the like, so I assumed it had something to do with the way the server was caching when I hit the post work button.
"Hm, I've got this warning to tell readers this fic is gay, but using the word "slash" in the year of their lord 2022 just isn't cursed enough. Oooh! I know!"
wait, is using the word slash considered cursed now? I know it's not used much anymore, but I thought that was more natural drift of the jargon.
its 'old' people talk so of course its considered 'cursed' (which is bullshit but thats the kind of shit going on with intergenerational interactions atm)
It takes me back to the ff.net days, which is not a fun trip. ( I was there, Gandalf, I was there ten thousand years ago...) However, it's only a little bit cursed. As opposed to "HOMOEROTICS" in all caps, which. Um.
To me, "Slash" is not generally cursed, but "Attention: TEXT CONTAINS SLASH" on a fic on AO3 clearly marked as m/m is.
On the subject of curses, I was backreading WTF Tags threads on Fail Fandom Anon, and this made me laugh so hard I fell out of bed: Spoiler: Inexplicable bestiality metaphors, cursed RPF
