honestly i violently detest the term beta reader for editing in general. he's not my beta, he's my fucking editor.
It was on a BNHA fic. I did not investigate more closely, because I'm mostly just tag-diving for weird tags and summaries.
Look. Look. What else am I supposed to do when the localization error is too big to write around, I ask you.
this isn't tags but it is an example of something where not looking at the tags before I read the summary nearly gave me a heart attack
It can be a job you pay someone for. It is not necessarily always a job. If I'm editing your shit, even if I am not being paid, I am your editor. Not your beta.
beta reader comes from beta tester. a beta reader is not an editor. it's a reader who tells you if they notice mistakes, just as a beta tester for a game is a player who tells you if they notice bugs, not someone who works for the game company and has the job of finding all the bugs. i mean, you don't have to call it beta if you don't want. you can call your typo-spotter the president of mars if you want. but beta and editing are two different things.
Blanking this because I feel on the verge of a split so I'm just gonna quarantine myself before something dumb happens.
That's it! Those are all the tags! There was more in the summary but jfc there is such a thing as too few tags
