As someone who has been in an in-patient ward Within the Wires is turning out to be horrifying. I've also always been horrified by and mesmerized by things like Mengele's "experiments" since I've learned about them as a kid. So "carpentry" is just kind of horrifyingly evocative. Especially after my fear of anesthesia and surgery happening to me was discovered while getting my wisdom teeth removed.

 

People at the ward returned a lot. They got upset about things which made things worse which upset them more. An endless spiral of being just a violent problem.

So I finished Within the Wires season 1. Started on The Orbiting Human Circus of the Air. I'm...not really sure what to think about it right now? Though to be fair I wasn't entirely sure what to think of Within the Wires when listening to the first episode. So I'll knock out the next two and see where things go. I really love the voice of the host, though.
