Rauiri isn't spelled like anything in Scottish Gaelic though, I don't think. Ruaridh would be acceptable, if a bit unusual.

 

I brought it up since Sethrial seemed to be implying their friend spells it that way because of a scottish dad. shrug. i may have been wrong in assuming that implication. xP

 

Does “Krystle” count, or is that fairly common and I’m just unfamiliar with it?

Oh boy Gaelic names. Siobhan was real bad for confusing me as a little one and I went to school with a lad who had his name spelled Rurri his name and mine [redacted] would always cause trip ups with teachers doing the register and this was with us both being in Scotland

 

No, that’s the assumption I was going off of too—I was just pointing out that I’m pretty sure the spelling Sethrial’s friend uses isn’t authentically Gaelic. (Although granted, I don’t know much about Scottish Gaelic, so take that with a pinch of salt.) Sorry for the confusion!
