i dunno, i've only seen it in print. but it's one of the most common navajo surnames. it means 'son of' and originates from when navajo people were first asked for surnames, since they didn't do that before. the 'son of' part ended up becoming a name on its own. similarly, another common navajo name, 'yazzie', means junior.

That sounds like the name of a character in a mid-90s near-future cyberpunk/sci-fi kids' cartoon with stock footage of the characters Entering Cyberspace that tried to market itself as edgy and got canceled after one season.

There was a serial killer whose mother was named Clarnell. I’m not sure if that’s an actual name for humans, but it sounds more like a name for a cow or something.

I googled "carina bone" (as in, one of the names for a particular bone found in birds) and got a "meet Carina Bone" page from a school of some sort.

There is at least one person in this world named Carina Bone. The one I accidentally found on Google is a science teacher.

I wonder if she knows she shares her name with a piece of a bird.

I'm always a little mad that Patient confidentiality keeps me from sharing names because i see a lot of stellar ones in the lab.

No but it's HIPAA here, and that's why I too can not share most of the choice names I see.

  17. Braun, the German word for Brown, as a first name. I’d seen it as a surname before, but as a first name? Why would you name your kid “brown”?

*shrugs* "Bruno" means the same thing.
