Bad: Asked dad to bring home six bags of large tortillas but he brought home eight bags of small tortillas and one bag of medium ones instead. Good: I may not be able to do what I wanted to with smaller tortillas but I have three more bags than I asked for and I love tortillas.
Good: switching departments at work means I have a more stable schedule now! Bad: a more stable schedule that means I need to wake up at 5 am :'D
bad news: me being too tired to make a proper meal and too hungry to wait for food is becoming annoyingly frequent, leading to decisions such as "what is a sandwich? sounds complicated. here eat this thing that requires no prep" good news: today's no prep thing was 3 mandarin oranges, and I feel more capable of making an additional food item for nutrition (possibly a sandwich)
bad news: another nonsense meltdown over weird shit good news: nonsense meltdown is calming down. also, published dog fic. gettin a move on the taxes, which are not prohibitively hard so far, and not terribly stressful. shouldn't be too bad.
Good: my bug not-phobia-exactly-but-still-causes-freakout is getting better!! Bad: I know this because a roach just crawled onto my notebook while I was in the couch T.T (I didn't scream and throw my notebook, and I managed to get rid of it, so I call that a win)
Bad News; I have work tomorrow and Saturday and I am Very Tired. It's midnight and I haven't made up my lunch for tomorrow. Good News; I made a lot of progress on cosplay today I think. I finished a picture. Attempted to socialise.
I do CNC programming / machining of prototypes for a startup medical device company. The sad thing is that headcount was recently reduced and a couple engineers I've been happily working with have been let go. The happy thing is that now the remaining engineers are a bit overloaded and the boss gave me engineering projects. It makes for a heavier workload to do this on top of my machining duties, but I like doing engineering and it's good on a resume.
Good news: I figured out my quaker parrots gender without having to resort to expensive genetic testing! Bad news: Ziggy laid an egg.
Good news: my fiance articulated "somebody is going to come see the apartment" before they actually arrived so I have had time to put on yoga pants before they get here. Bad news: I only brought one bra with me and it was a casualty in yesterday's colostomy debacle.
Good news: gonna make up the hours I missed while sick! Holla holla get dolla Bad news: Do Not Want 10- and 12-hour shifts, and I feel like I'm encouraging this manager too much :T
Am still depressed, and someone I love dearly in California (who is visibly latina too) is currently homeless. Just argh. But today I'm going to see Wonder Woman with the housemate. We'd planned to see it as a matter of principle, vote with our money for a woman-directed woman-starring summer blockbuster movie, yanno? And now I also hear it's pretty awesome. So I am actually kind of almost excited.
Bad news: my granddad said no to going to Dublin with me Good news: the no is only for now. So it might very well be that I take a 90 year old man to Dublin later this year :D
Good news: Dad is back! Bad news: It's to pack his stuff and move to Seattle for good Good news: This is a huge step for him and shows a ton of progress and it's really great! Bad news: It's selfish but I rely on him a lot for emotional support and I don't want him to stay gone :(
Good news: I'm a fucking concealer artist. I can hide my worst raccoon eyes, and I'm a lifetime insomniac mine get pretty impressive, like a fleshtone ninja. Bad news: nobody will ever notice my work.
Good news: kitty is getting less lethargic and is probably getting over her URI! Bad news: this means she is more able to wiggle and protest when we have to give her her medicine, so she keeps managing to get it everywhere except in her mouth :T
Bad News: My tablet needed to be sent in for repair due to charging issues. I'm on my 8 year old netbook with a 4 year unsupported OS (can't switch to a higher version because hardware and drivers), everything is laggy, 70% of stuff plain doesn't work (Gifs? Discord? Skype? Google Drive? Youtube? Ahahhahaa good joke). Good news: Even though the guarantee was voided due to a visible small as fuck blemish from a drop and three keys having popped off, both of which are entirely unrelated to the issue of the fucked charging jack and battery, I don't have to pay for repair because I shelled out an extra 80€ to insure it. Because I know myself, and that's what happened to my last proper laptop. 3 weeks to go...
bad-i slept thru my therapy appointment and her next opening is in 2 weeks and by then its like a week b4 i go back to school. good-i went to the beach with my bff on sunday and had a fantastic time
Good news: I might have an apartment Bad news: I won't be able to move in until a week after the start of term.
