But yeah, it goes on sale during Steam sales and you can get the Ultimate Edition for pretty good prices. You'll want the Ultimate Edition because it has more story content and its worth it. There's also a free trial period.

... I figured out why I was having such a hard time with content ostensibly rated normal for my skill level. See, I merrily went and pumped my talisman skills up to QL 10 despite only being in the first part of Egypt, not realizing that would skew the rating compared to the gear (QL 8 at best) I actually have...

Oops. If you want to actually get some nice QL10 gear I can take you through Issue 7. It's fun! Or dungeons

Settled on Kathy "CandescentLily" Gaele because I both glow in the dark because I'm so pale, and I'm also super fragile. Picked Illuminati, and I am pretty fucking sure I just got smooth-talked by Varric Tethras in the opening cutscene. Also on Arcadia

 

"Enhanced Interrogation" listen scientist friend, I know what that means, and I am increasingly dubious that I picked the right faction, sexy human!Varric aside.

 

i swear half the VAs in Dragon Age are in TSW. At least Cassandra is a lesbian in this universe

Also I'm looking at the ability wheel and even with a guide up i have no idea what to do O.o I may just. Click and hope for the best.

 

Pick two weapons, work on filling out their inner wheel and if you hate them, try something else. You can use passives with any weapon though. Some universally good cheap early game ones are Immortal Spirit, Elemental Force and Lick Your Wounds

 

I have picked elemental magic and pistols because I would like to stay as far away from things as possible x3

 

Either the writing is really really good or I am an even bigger wuss than originally thought because I'm super fucking creeped out in Not Innsmouth
The voice work is all stellar so far, A+ Glad I realized I can quiz NPC's beyond the initial topic bubble. So far my fave is the fortune teller.

oh my god this game :D!!!

here are my favorite things about this game:

• the creepy cthulhu monsters just kinda wandering around putting weird almost-words in your head THEY'RE SO AWESOME I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
• really really compelling and interesting NPCs (HI FORTUNE TELLER LADY YOU'RE AWESOME)
• GREAT voice acting
• The cities are huge and have tons of neat little RP places! I CAN GO TO A FRIGGIN COFFEE SHOP
• Mixing magic and weaponry is fun! also I am instantly fond of elemental magic in anything so yes
• tons and tons and tons and TONS of stuff to do, to the point where it's a little bit overwhelming, but still a lot of fun
• there's something deliciously self-indulgent and fun about making a little avatar-you and then having that avatar you star in cutscenes and stuff
• I don't know a whole lot about the factions yet, but all of them are super fun. the Illuminati are hilarious and I keep finding new accidental reasons why putting my doofy fantroll there was actually the perfect decision. why do the templars have KITTIES EVERYWHERE? HOW ARE DRAGONS SO FREAKING COOL?? it's a mystery.

My main is SylvanEscapist! (Lu is LimpetCuddler) And all my folks are on Arcadia. (I made one of my OCs and help he looks like Thor)
