The sword is floaty and I dumped like 300 AP into Pistol only to get tired of the way they sound before I could even try them. I'd really like to find a more satisfying and spectacular weapon loadout.

Bonus points for complexity. Mashing 1 and sometimes 2 has gotten very boring.

Any recommendations?

 

I'm not sure how much complexity any set really ends up with, there tends to be a lot of "build five resources, pop finishers, repeat", but hmm. Chaos is probably my favorite set graphically because you get to pop out energy claws and spin around with them, or yank people around with energy chains. Right now I'm running fists/blood as a soloing build with decent damage and some self healing and not particularly annoyed at any sound effects from it, but even there it tends to be 1 1 1 1 1 2 3 for single target and 4 4 4 4 4 2 3 for packs, with the occasional heal or charge.

(edit: it was a little more complicated before they nerfed Elemental Force, but even though I did enjoy the guaranteed crit I still have to admit it kinda needed it.)

 

I have The Secret World on Steam now because I like having my games on Steam, and since I hadn't used the copy I bought on the website yet, I hadn't even input the key, I'm giving it to my best friend as his Christmas present (and also so we can play it togetherrrrrr)

(Is there anything we can do for you, friend? I know it's not super likely since after being in a game for long enough one finds themselves swimming in Stuff, but I figured I'd ask.)

Definitely! The issues are story content that's come out since the game's release. I think 1-4 are now part of the base game but 5-11 are some of the best parts.
