that... could very probably be from the main blog of the one i met (the side-blog kazutori). this is one who, by the way, called my girlfriend rude for posting "hate" in the "quail boyfriends" tag, when she mentioned in some meta that the pair is abusive and unhealthy in canon.

the best part is that both the gf and i actually ship it. but apparently ship tags/mentions-that-show-up-in-search are "safe spaces" for fans who want to pretend there's nothing negative at all about their fluffy quail twoo wuv soulmates. YEESH.

 

speaking of kazuaki ships: has anyone here ever considered kazuaki/yuuya, because it is happening in my roleplay right now and it is unexpectedly PERFECT.

 

how can anyone think those two are fluffy? like really.

To be fair, I do get the "I just want everyone to be happy, don't you dare even mention bad things happening" things.
But that's mostly because I'm an overemotional trainwreck.

Also, I realized that, according to Tumblr standards of "relatable = fictionkin", I'd be kin with Hitori, Kazuaki and Nageki. Which I guess would be kind of a mess.

there's the similar-but-crucially-different "this badship is an unhealthy mess, and i will painstakingly find a way to realistically have both these characters overcome their issues and be happy"

it has taken a literal novel's worth of character development to get to this point in my shuu/migrant story, but when we get there it will be fluffy and glorious.

 

Ugggh, you and your girlfriend have my deepest sympathy because those kinds are the fucking worst. I love when saying anything that's critical of characters' in-universe actions = ~tagging your hate~. That couldn't possibly be the behavior of a fan who likes that ship/character/canon, no, it must be a hater come to persecute us real fans using outlandish claims of "flawed characters" existing in our fiction.

 

To be fair, I do think fluffy Quail Boyfriends could work in an AU (shrine AU can maybe work out but I'm still kinda getting abusive-ish vibes from the scenes with them), but yeah, that's not happening in canon, ever.

in lieu of a shitty powerpoint, here's a short presentation on the joys of kazuaki/yuuya (the ship formally known as "kazoo"). behold!

• depression buddies! depression. buddies.
  
• kazuaki is the victim of a sinister sacrifice made in the name of brotherly love.
• yuuya is haunted by guilt of a sinister sacrifice he made in the name of brotherly love.
• see? see!? it's all coming together.
  
• kazuaki never got any real closure, and nobody learned the full story of who hitori was or what he did to him. yuuya is in a position to uncover the truth with his super sleuthy spy skills and treat kazuaki like someone who isn't just a burdensome nuisance for once.
  
• they're both such good birds, okay? they deserve happiness. and all the other birds are taken. and somebody won't let me ship shuu/yuuya.
• i can't believe i wrote this instead of going to bed

this isn't exactly a healthy candidate for potential bird threesome, but consider how interesting it would be if the two of them had a thing with nageki. triple the brotherly weirdness, and throw in the fact that nageki is hitori's brother, and you have a recipe for a very interesting group dynamic. also i like the idea of kazuaki slowly revising his opinion of the two birds he resented so much in holistar.

my real ot3 is the ryuuji/shuu/yuuya clusterfuck, though. too-old scientist birds and their assistants all the way down. >:]

 

Meanwhile, the main OT3 in the fandom seems to be Sakuya/Ryouta/Yuuya, and
I mean, it's okay if you ship it, but I'm grossed out by incest, that's all.

 

...someone answer this Very Important Question for a small child who stays out of the larger part of the fandom: is the ship name for Shuu/Yuuya Shuuya, and if it's not then why?
