    Most of my Interesting Bird Facts are actually interesting non-avian reptile or mammalian facts wearing disguises with birds serving as a backdrop.

    Example: Nearly all mammals have exactly seven cervical vertebrae (exceptions include sloths and manatees), while birds experience no such constraint! This is why swan necks can arch so gracefully while giraffe necks are comparatively stiff.

    OH BOY I LOVE BIRDS

    I didn't know that about the vertebrae that's cool.

    But here it is Junco Season - pretty much no birds wanna be out in the cold except these fat ashy colored borbs. They're wonderful.

    I remember learning as a young'un that sparrows had more vertebrae than me and it blew my mind.
