one time i went to go outside and realized literally as i was putting my foot down that Something Was Off About The Doormat
stopped with my foot just above the doormat
and the chicken that was sunbathing on the doormat put her head up and stared at me like "why is your foot touching my side"
she was the same colour as the doormat i hadn't seen her

also mum calls sunbathing chickens 'melted chickens" as in "oh look there's a chicken melting on the deck" or 'you know it's hot out when you look outside and all the chickens have melted"
