Eh, that's not actually that bad. It's an ionic compound and chlorate's a polyatomic ion with a triangular pyramidal structure, so if they included the lone pair it'd look tetrahedral. The sodium's mostly just there as, like, a carrier for the chlorate.
Theoretically it's not his body heat breaking it down- it's the heat of the lightning that his super speed creates For Some Reason. Which.. isn't inside his body. So I don't know how that's gonna work. He doesn't get super hot, but he does burn a large amount of glucose and, apparently, a lot of oxygen (hence their attempts to give Barry more oxygen). They made a plot point of him fainting due to running through his glucose reserves and now having to eat a lot more. But I don't see him gasping for air while running. :P
"He has the ability to transfer all the kinetic energy in the area into himself.." "Leaving everyone else in a temporary state of potential energy."
One would think that a movement-slowing kinetic-energy-draining field would stop your gun from firing at normal speed! And that a chandelier falling in the field would go slower than THE ACTUAL FLASH
Oh hey, I had a question about a time travel mechanics plot hole and it actually got addressed. Four for you, The Flash.
The Flash valentines from me and @luckydicekirby. they're silly and in-jokey and my weird ship is showing, lmao.
what are u talking about, there is absolutely nothing weird, about our weird ship : P anyway, shout out to google images for providing me with that EXTREMELY MAJESTIC LOOKING lizard
Well, I'm officially caught up with the show! So the science nitpicking will have to happen at a rate of one episode per week, rather than .. >5 per day.. I have a lot of time on my hands ok : P
out of all the things you've addressed on this thread, this is the one that gets me. this is simultaneously the absolute best and worst villain name i've ever seen. i keep thinking "roy g bivolo, american gigolo" and giggling.
(takes a bow) He's fucking ridiculous, but all he does in the show is beam red light at people out of his eyes to make them irrationally murder-angry. Update from the last couple episodes: The S.T.A.R. Labs gang heads to an alternate Earth. Everything "vibrates at a different wavelength," which means that 1) one guy's brain-interface goggles (they, like, beam sleep and fear waves into his brain, idfk, that bit might as well be magic) don't work, and Barry tries to phase through a glass wall and fails because - you got it - he's not vibrating at the right frequency. He has to go faster to go through it, necessitating a pep talk. .. I should make a list of all the physically unlikely things Barry does that necessitate pep talks. "Run, Barry, run!" is a frequent quote, and the climaxes of episodes frequently hinge on whether he can run fast enough to do whatever.
Well, I've certainly seen people become murderously angry at stoplights, that's totally plausible. :::PPP (He's the Flash. Being able to run Fast Enough is, like. His entire THING. :::/// )
I know, but the sequence of specific examples amuses me. (Also, "Can Barry run at [arbitrary speed]?!?!" [Barry tries really hard] [Barry does it] [it looks exactly the same as every other speed he runs at] can only entertain me so many times.) Can Barry run fast enough to unravel a tornado? Can Barry run fast enough to run up a building? Can Barry run fast enough to run on water? Can Barry run fast enough to hit a guy made of metal at the right angle and frequency to break him? (I think he goes supersonic here?) Can Barry run faster than lightning? Can Barry run faster than a nuclear blast? Can Barry run fast enough to create a wall of air to stop a tidal wave? JK, that causes him to run fast enough to go back in time. (Not light speed! Just fast enough to "punch a hole in the spacetime continuum." Can Barry run fast enough to phase through a truck, leaving the bomb strapped to his arm behind? Can Barry spin his arms fast enough to make a tornado and put out a fire? Can Barry run fast enough to create a wormhole by banging into a hydrogen proton shooting around a particle accelerator? Can Barry run fast enough to unspool a wormhole? Can Barry - do something with a radioactive thing, I don't remember and TVTropes doesn't have the details I'm tired of typing this list so I'm just gonna end with Can Barry run fast enough to escape his emotional problems??
yeah, from what i remember rainbow raider makes people angry with red beam, depressed with blue, and cowardly (aka yellow bellied) with yellow. i don't remember the other colors but he tried to fight batman once from what i saw in google images and it was hilarious.
