also you are a bad person and i am now thinking about how scruffy-cute werewoof erskin would look stuffed into a suit. possibly bel should reflect on this also.

 

wait i thought alex was coming home with bel around 9-ish? but then you wrote that he was staying at the airforce base or something...? did i read it wrong or do you have a plot idea?

 

i thought bel was gonna break the werewolf news to alex after dinner, because bel had decided he wanted to tell him, and erskin said basically 'well think about it tomorrow and then tell him if you're really sure when he comes home', and i thought bel was like 'ok good idea' or smth

 

btw i figure this is about like how erskin's scars would show, on his snoot. even in summer coat the fur is long enough to cover up bald patches and stripes, so most of his bite and clawmarks and whatever are hidden until he's in skin. but i think the nose scratches would be apparent. i was just thinking about like, what might stay the same from shape-to-shape, that alex could be looking for, though of course the problem with erskin's face as a human is all the scars on his whole long wolf face get foreshortened on to the much flatter human face.

haha, yeah.

i think erskin pulls a certain amount of what i think of as 'doctoring' in the sense of doctor who. he's well-traveled, empathetic, smart, and quick to pick up on unspoken signals, so he's pretty socially adept when he wants to be, even if he's coming at some stuff from a really bizarre angle. but i think when human he also does a lot of straight up GOSH AND GOLLY GEE YOUR QUIRKY ILLOGICAL CULTURE IS SO STRANGE AND INCOMPREHENSIBLE TO ME, WHAT A SHAME I'LL JUST HAVE TO DO WHATEVER I WANT ANYWAY EVEN IF IT WEIRDS YOU OUT, I DO NOT KNOW ANY BETTER.

 

so i don't know how often male wolves are down for recreational orgasms, but i think it's significantly less often than human males, and i know they're actually only fertile around early winter. still, i don't actually want to wade through all the furry porn out there to try and figure out more about the sexual proclivities of wolves.

anway i'm pretty sure if erskin was stuck a wolf for half the month bel would be the one with blue balls, haha. now that i'm sitting here it occurs to me that in a lot of AUs erskin is overtly demisexual. in the space navy AU he's a lot more of a libertine because uh i want to write a lot of porn so to heck with it. but in the woof AU, i don't think he stresses about not having sex when he's not having sex. especially when he spends most of his time as a lone wolf.

 

i think erskin's no-go zone is something like ten days. it's only a few days at this point past the half moon and he's having a lot of trouble, so counting it up that seems about right. from a couple days past the waxing half moon to a couple days before the waning half moon, with wibbly edges depending on various circumstances. maybe after hanging out with Bel a few months he'll get more practiced and his no-go zone will shorten. i think i'm sticking with the metaphor of gravitational pull for erskin. he's got to work to get out of being wolfy, then maintain a balance that's increasingly precarious and draining as the moon waxes. the week of the new moon he's probably totally fine though.

maybe bel's no-go zone would only be like 48 hours, half the day before, all the day of, half the day after.

 

bel is free to tell erskin to stop talking about him like he's a stud bull, i'm aware that this is a weird and creepy thing to have someone say about you, from a normal perspective.
