HEY SO I THOUGHT of something. what if when erskin gets out of the tank, arguus is brave enough and worried enough that he came along with lainey? and like, erskin and lainey in the space navy AU are pretty trollish, they're all bickering and heckling and self-referential irony, even while they're crawling all over each other. but anyway they both make a big fuss over arguus all the time, they're big dorks and you'd have to be a real monster to be mean to someone as gormlessly pathetic as arguus, but anyway.

i think it'd be an interesting scene to have poor jethro helping erskin out of the tank and into the arms of his hot matesprit and her cute moirail oh wait that's erskin's moirail oh wait what the shit erskin has just burrowed under his sweater while appreciatively declaiming and there is a suspicious amount of hair petting going on and lainey is hovering protectively over them both how would you even chart this does jethro have a chance here or not.

well i think lu is next but then yeah just pick one. im not gonna be mad if im 'passed over' a few turns while bel and lu talk to each other! i just want a clearer idea of what's goin on.

Huh, i think i forgot that bel's rank is due to his shit exile posting-- a blueblood his age and intelligence would be an officer in most places, but still a pretty junior one. On the sunslammer there's a mid-teal and a mad seadweller, so he's a commander like a hundred sweeps early.

Considering how stressed and self-destructive he can get, its probably good that it's (secondary)command over such a small crew of noncombatants, even if there's so much else to do. If he'd been dumped on a frontline troop carrier or actual battleship or even command of a station, he'd probably die of ulcers in a quarter sweep. His superiors hecked up!

Then again the sunslammer probably does have a pretty high death rate for bluebloods. Even if the death rate for lowbloods has slowed way down.
