also, i am pretty sure erskin has been pornographic levels of pale-cute this entire time. poor jethro.

 

erskin is like those puppies where you take them out of the water and they just keep on paddling. put him in a wheelchair: off he goes. where? wherever. he is in a movable device so he's gotta go move it.

jethro might have had an inkling erskin was relentlessly high-energy when he wouldn't just hang out in VR, but his physical therapy might be more on the order of 'dude, chill,' instead of 'come on take a few more steps i believe in you'.

 

naw, venting is fine, i don't mind hearing about friends' frustrations. also it's kind of educational in terms of developing a disabled character better.

i definitely wonder a lot if erskin's disabilities are like... appropriative? insulting? like 'how dare this totally healthy girl play at disabled just as a dramatic plot device'. i know you and seneca have to deal with it all the time for real and i can just wander away from the monitor. but i don't think me feeling guilty actually solves anything, and anyway erskin's physical limitations feel like a pretty integral part of the character, by now. sigh!

anyway, i meant to say, feel free to chime in or correct anything if you think i'm wandering off into like Fantasy Tuberculosis territory. i get details wrong— i have erskin using his cane on the wrong side!

but then, that's something that can be attributed to character error, too, i think he just went from walking sticks to actual assistive canes and never got straightened out. he should have jethro correct him on it, i think. like 'dude no wonder you're clumsy and frustrated and sore, try it the way you should have been told to years ago if you'd had any adequate doctors at all ever.'

 

erskin and lainey are like the absolute worst kind of power couple because they are not just in love with each other but they are in love with the whole concept of being sickeningly obnoxious about it. they probably form an unbreakable front of silly grab-ass bullshittery whenever they go around in public together and it is for everyone's benefit that they have jobs and interests that rarely overlap.

 

i absolutely know that erskin should be down and out more often, but with RPs there's always that time issue, you know? you can't just ground one character for the week they'd actually be down for, or you have to navigate time skips and cut down on the action scenes.... hooray for seadweller/werewolf handwavium, for all that it IS a shame to give a character a disability so they'll have challenging limitations, then shelve them for plot.

i think captain aspera absolutely finds it frustrating and humiliating, and i tried to put in mentions of it here and there, that he's got a history of getting laid out or grounded. this time's just the most serious in awhile, i guess! also now that jethro's around, his downtime will probably be less boring or depressing to play through...?

 

haha poor jethro. with arguus, erskin isn't sneaking around, he and lainey just kind of automatically keep arguus's whole existence on the downlow by never really talking about him.

 

what should we do next...? timeskip to bel? i guess erskin would be seeing bel before his next encounter with jethro, right?

 

Hmm, do you think it would be better pitch flirtation for Erskin to wear it and rock it and play along, or for Erskin to burn it and send him the video?

 

The idea of Erskin tarting himself up and sending absurd selfies is cute and funny, I just don't know if it's pitch. There should be some element of competition and challenge in there...?
