feel free to gloss over the eye squick, btw. i just realized if erskin hasn't had a six in 16 hours, he probably also hasn't had medical attention for the latest batch of owies.

 

i feel like The Bridge is some bullshit imposing stateroom with a giant full-wall flatscreen that shows outerspace only prettier and with commanding overlays and Lainey hangs out there a lot because it makes her feel fancy and in charge

and erskin never goes there because what's the point, he's got a phone, if someone needs something they can get in contact with him while he's actually doing more useful shit than sitting on a big chair.

 

i totally forgot about the girls! good call tho, i really like that. poor lu and twitch.

 

yeah erskin would be like 'oh hey let's pause makeouts for food' but he is pretty far into the 'loopy' stage of overwork, and his ability for forward planning has been cut down to about zero. he's going to be doing pretty much whatever seems good at the moment it occurs to him.

rather than thinking like 'if we hump on this couch pancho will see it and i will be embarrassed so i should wait until food happens to initiate serious flirting', he's more like 'it bel.'

 

maybe i'm making too many assumptions about what kind of devious malingering bel knows about, but i just really like erskin doing the same sort of devious trickster maneuvering as any lowblood backed into corners and no-win situations, because those are the guys who taught him how to get shit done. so he's ended up very Prince With A Thousand Enemies, you know?

edit: the flipside to erskin's particular education is that he isn't a lowblood, and he's cunning in some really limited ways. like he was saying with ironfist, he expects to always be fighting a long losing battle. bel's good for him in reminding him just what a highblood's power and education can get done.
