Boat Trolls planning thread! (full of spoilers, non-players enter at your own risk)

Some logic: no one is supposed ti be getting murdered at whiteys and the will if bel shows up to start shit n get hit, and two, bel is still hamburger. Tag-teaming means turns and bel can wait another night for his.

 

oh my god i just realized, this version of erskin doesn't really have a sense of honor about promises. he learned social contracts from lainey, a pack of rejects, and a rotating cast of dangerous captains. so to him a promise is just an extra sincere lie. he wouldn't keep any promise made under duress, nor would he expect bel to— if you were already lying about not doing the thing, why would you bat an eye at adding an extra lie on top about definitely for sure not doing the thing?

so if bel was like 'this conversation isn't over until you promise x' erskin would be like 'oh. okay, i promise x'. and then later be like 'WELL YOU SAID THAT WAS HOW TO END THE CONVERSATION'.

bel: are your promises worth anything?
erskin: well they get people i don't like to do what i want. so yes.

 

erskin would also find the concept that bel wanted to trust him just on his words really baffling. why would you trust words? no one keeps any promises they don't want to, or honors any contracts they can break, in his world. you trust someone when you know what they want and how far they'll go to get it (which is usually pretty damn far). he'll trust bel for some stuff but not other stuff, bel can trust him for some stuff but not other stuff, that's just how people are.

 

well, if that would be a bummer for you to write we can skip it. the doubting the relationship bit. erskin could definitely point out that bel's other partner has cameras all over the ship, if he's worried about cheating.

 

yeah now is not the time to have a big discussion on trust and lies! everyone's too stressed.

anyway erskin could meet up with whitey?

also maybe erskin just wants to check in on them, or check up on whitey? distrustful helicopter checking-in-on?

omg maybe he just made up an excuse to go see if whitey's ok

 

would whitey have asked around about what stuff erskin likes, to have better conversations with him? or is he self absorbed enough to just assume whatever he likes is best to talk about. because if he talks aquaculture with erskin they're gonna get along. maybe it would be cute if he sort of tries to suss out what makes erskin light up?

 

I think this is a situation trolls aren't really set up to deal with! It might fry his brain to have reggie and whitey in the room at once. But while he's with one he forgets about the other, and while he's away from both he mostly just feels self-reliant and orphan-y. Thats probably just kind of an erskin thing though. Is there a word for 'emotionally short sighted'?

 

What if the handsy subjugglator goes and feels up Whitey again, and Erskin plows in, despite all his stern admonishments to Bel not to start shit at Whitey's. And Whitey is kind of flattered and kind of like 'this potato does not need more bruises' and orders in another round of hard drugs? And maybe one for Erskin, who needs to fucking chill.
