ok i think that's the end of the scene! let's say whitey got his claws painted properly somewhere in there, too. i just like the idea of him with pretty osprey talons. he'd look great. anyone would look great. i wish i had osprey talons.

 

also hey so, what if bel had to deal with ironfist making him the subject of his fucked up fighting games now? bel loathes him so much more sincerely, and is a lot more skillful at it in his own way. i could see a bored subjugglator captain having some fun destruction-testing this ballsy new first mate, especially because it would also send erskin into a confused panic.

 

yeah, i think 'cold and disgusted contempt' would be an interesting and unusual emotional reaction for ironfist to play with— he's a big predatory creep, but i think subjugglators tend to be pretty hatesexy? most other highbloods would regard them with disgust and contempt, but the hate would run hot.

i'm also not sure how bel would survive his attention unless he dialed it back a fair bit. but maybe he would? they can't all be vicious fights to the death, and erskin's already pointed out the guy just likes winning. maybe he'll only fight as hard as it takes to beat someone, which is why erskin can survive a couple weeks of brawling with him. neither of them puts too much into the fight.

come to think of it, that could be a lesson for bel, the subtle politics of hate-wrangling visiting captains rather than surviving a battlefield. don't fight with everything you have. just fight enough to keep your opponent busy.

and i do like storylines where poor bel is the one who gets fucked up. poor erskin gets whumped probably too much!

 

he probably won't! it'd be nice, but not really feasible. i bet bel really really wants it tho.

tbh we could skip to the 'good fucking bye' party after the clowns finally leave. i could basically summarize the rest of what goes on if we decide on what that is.

 

a plot i really want to play, and have wanted to play for ages now, is 'young bel and old bel switch places for a week', but i don't know if that's too zany! we are doing 'silly sci fi tropes' in the space navy AU so i think 'cross universe age swap' is fitting for that setting, but i don't wanna mess up the original timeline that we... never play on anymore haha.

also i don't know if it'd put too much of a strain on you like, creatively, to carry the brunt of the Weird Plot Of The Week. you play bel just fine in different universes though...? what do you think.

in case it sweetens the deal, please consider captain erskin tripping over small bel, staring, then throwing his hands up and going OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE in profound irritation. nothing on the fucking sunslammer can go right for ten minutes at a goddamn time.

 

also idk if i've posted it here yet but:



this vid always gets me hopped up for Erskin Adventures because the guy looks so much like erskin— he's very eyelashy and rogueish— and uses flintlocks and is cool in half a dozen plausible universes. aud thinks the noir girl he flirts with is very cloris-ish too.

 

that is fair! go recover from shit and i'll hassle you about it in another couple days.

 

okay, here's a solid scenario, i think.

they're having the 'goodbye and good riddance' party/wake after the clowns are gone. galley pings erskin with 'so hey we're going through some really weird and fragile space, fyi, and having a wake in the middle of it is not great'. bel goes to help erskin through the problem area with a minimum of dropping them all into the dungeon dimensions... and erskin gets a panicky call from galley like an hour later that some magic-ass discharge was happening, bel tried to save galley from it like a heroic dumbass, the discharge grounded in the guy who isn't rigged up to an eldrich horror, and first mate kadros is now swapped out with a really, really unhappy adolescent.

 

pros of adolescent bel: can still do the paperwork, is very cute, erskin is taller than him
cons of adolescent bel: basically everything else

 

yeah, almost-9-sweeps bel from the original RP, that bel. yanked from maybe the near-future of where we're at in that timeline? due to cross-dimensional shenanigans, he can be gone for a week or a perigee and we can still dump him back at the same point in time, or play commander kadros flailing around in that universe whenever we want. does that make sense?
