Boat Trolls planning thread! (full of spoilers, non-players enter at your own risk)

i miss lanky idealist teen bel! he's my favorite stalwart dingus. and yeah 'galley's never been free, ditto lu, me and pancho became complacent tools of empire, and erskin is for some reason in charge of an entire goddamn spaceship' is on the face of it teen bel's Darkest Universe scenario. so that's fun.

i can set up/summarize through to the party, then we could mutually play together the bit where commander kadros and galley go through the Dimensional Shenanigan Event. or i could write all the way to galley calling erskin up in distress about suddenly baby bel. which would you like?

 

huh. interesting thought: young bel knows reggie as of what, a year? half a sweep or so by now? but he knows him firmly as 'that's erskin's dad'. commander kadros has known the same griffin for like five or six sweeps as basically 'that's loggan's wife / our stepmom'.

edit: how about no additional fluffcheep. there's already plenty of fluffcheeps!

 

i was thinking the very-near future, where everyone's gone back to the island. but pulling bel from that same night in the desert could be interesting, and would make it much easier to know what bel's just been doing and what his mindset and opinions on stuff are.

 

btw i've dragged us to the party via narration but i'll do erskin's POV up to the part where galley calls erskin in. that's what you want, right?

 

erskin is going to smell like campfire, makeouts, and party drinks, and probably have a bunch of flowers stuck in his shaggy hair. he's not 'definitely almost died' gaunt, but he's definitely 'dragged through several weeks of rough road' lean and mauled, and is still using his badass eyepatch. also i guess from bel's perspective he's just jumped from seventeenish to mid-twenties in terms of physical maturity, and is definitely at least a foot taller.

"Disoriented, you scramble for the nearest bit of cover -- back in a corner, crouched under a desk, pistolkind out and aimed at --" i am completely charmed that bel fits under galley's little desk, i bet not even erskin fits under there anymore.

also yeah i think bel put civilian clothes on, i think he's had a change since clearing the vampires out, sleeping in a recuperacoon, having a ton of sex with erskin, and taking an oasis bath.

 

haha so at no point has anyone said the captain's name. idk how much of erskin's side of the convo bel would have heard, either. maybe bel would be expecting helmsman galley's captain to be that rapist fuckface still?

 

"His flight suit isn't that shredded-up monstrosity with the pattern like public transport seat uphlostery, it's a sleek black-on-black tunic and leggings that fit him like someone was proud of him and wanted him to look badass" i like this because yes. erskin 'i will do as much work as possible in an old t-shirt' aspera does actually want galley to look clean and healthy and valued. i think he probably makes a total point of this to visiting captains, too? like 'hey you fucking well know we're the shit ship and WE can keep OUR helmsman maintained, you have no excuse whatsoever to keep yours in a moldy closet.'

 

Yes, perfect, he looks super hot in that, Erskin has excellent, artistic taste in costumes in every universe.
