to be fair, he's probably tired too! and there's always the temptation to act differently or be less restrained in a new space. some combo of feeling around for boundaries and taking the opportunity to reinvent yourself, i think.

 

Erskin's happily drunk and very casual about macking on people, but he's a gentleman about not going after anyone who turns him down or has prior commitments. Plus he he knows he can just go have sex with Lainey or Arguus if he really wants to get off, so it's not any kind of urgent issue for him. So he'll be rough-housing in a pretty friendly, non-foreplay way until/unless Bel tells him he's changed his mind.

 

"So even though he's absurdly attractive, you're not going to cheat on your own Erskin with his double. Which, yes it would too be cheating." bel is like the only dude here who cares, the poor guy. if bel remains virtuously chaste the whole time and comes back and lets teen erskin know, erskin is going to be sort of baffled. like... why wouldn't you make out with a hot older double of your boyfriend. why would you pass that up.

so i just thought, captain erskin doesn't really have any reason to actually hate teen bel, now that he's really understood they're different people. he'd continue being as hate-friendly to teen bel as he would be to twitch and lu— they're juveniles in a bad situation, they're basically nonentities. they're not serious threats or assets, they're charges.

that kind of gentle, well-meaning dismissal could really get on teen bel's nerves, i bet. unlike twitch or lu, he's used to being recognized as a competent, dangerous authority. getting a pat on the head and a 'run along now' is not going to make him feel great.

if erskin finds out that teen bel is just as capable of bullheaded, prideful, i-know-best disruption as commander kadros, he's gonna be pretty mad tho.

 

speaking of oh shit adults, what is bel's attitude towards adults? i guess it's been really theoretical until now, like, adults are the guys in movies and schoolfeeds (and porn), they're not quite real, even as you and your peer group are turning into them. but then bel's gonna be totally surrounded by them in short order.

 

it's ok! i figured you were busy. cat snuggles are very important.

 

bel is going to be absolutely fucking surrounded by his friends who all grew up to be incredibly fucking hot. it will be great. murfey should flirt with the kid hard.

also i am rly looking forward to pancho meeting small bel.
