INTERESTING CROW FACT: a researcher on a college campus stopped being able to trap and tag crows pretty quickly, because the ones he caught and released told everyone else that he was a bad guy. crows, like tumblr users, will go mob anything one of their gang starts screaming the mob scream at, and they'll remember what— and even who— they attacked. and teach new crows to attack that guy. they didn't start attacking all the humans, or even all the guys who looked like the researcher, just him. they knew his face. so, the researcher had to switch to using his wife to set the traps, but after a month or so she was getting mobbed. they switched to interns, who, after awhile, had to start wearing masks— so of course the crows learned to attack assholes in masks. i don't recall how this situation got resolved. maybe they just went through a lot of masks.

i will happily listen to so many awesome animal facts roach you don't even know i recall reading that crows and ravens in some areas will follow anyone carrying a gun, in the anticipation of delicious free innards when hunters gut their deer to make them easier to pack out, and that this led to a photographer being followed around by birds because he was carrying a camera tripod
Spoiler: =>gillian: get feels about rping as a thing in /itself/ as a result of reading boat trolls (emotions incoming you have been WARNED) so i've started reading boat trolls (currently on chapter 9 of book 2) and as well as having feels about, well, the actual boat trolls (galley, i'm looking at u, mister), i'm having feels about rping itself. 'cause, like, i haven't really read the ooc planning/commentary or whatever so i can't be totally sure, but you guys just seem so in sync, to just rp really well together... and yeah, that reminds me of when i once had a very long rp on tumblr, with someone that was very wonderful together with me, like that. (and then, non-rp shit went down and yeah... totally sunk it. *sigh*) it was different, of course, 'cause i was rping a canon character and it wasn't homestuck, but yeah... feels. meta-feels, really! i really miss it... this isn't entirely relevant, i know, but i felt the urge to mention it anyway.
