Also, Sunslammer Galley. I wake up every morning to the sound of motors roaring they are drowning out these voices in my head at night while I am sleeping I still hear the angels speaking but I can't recall a single thing they said I see their lips move clearly I feel their presence near me but all their unearthly wisdom just slips through the cracks I push I strain I wrestle with my brain I retch, I shake, I cry until I break it burns it hurts I tumble to the earth and as I fall I feel myself relax.
Oh yes. Galley's backstory is very like the Icarus narrative. I wonder if that's why Luka chose the name Sunslammer for the ship?
I dunno! I picked the name of my helm's ship based on what sounded the most pretentious and imperial (Heavenspear for a little cargo ship). Sunslammer certainly sounds more meaningful, especially if you factor in how dangerous the sun is for trolls, how little self-preservation Galley has, and the Icarus parallels. EDIT: Or, could just be after the homestuck song.
Jason webley is one of my favorite artists. Dance while the sky crashes down is my sburb headcanon-theme song.
OH YEAH HUH. I KNEW THAT. But yeah the whole name thing plus the crashing planetside sounds a lot like flying too close to the sun/falling into the ocean. And I mean, then there's the whole thing of like, ideological symbolism as well.

That'd be awesome! It'd make it a lot easier for some of us to follow, too. (And I might have a further push to leave Tumblr, if I don't have "what if boat trolls" as an excuse)
yeah, it just happens to be the same blue as bel, so it kinda imprints on him and starts bossing him around. :D of course, it hasn't happened yet, and there's many a slip twixt drunken pesterchum plotnoodle session and actual rp.
