squeakings of pale joy are even more embarrassing in the apartment complex computer center than they are in the library. :D OMG I just want to hug Erskin. And cheer on Jethro. Because pale otp.
i was wishing jethro knew enough to understand what he was talking about, cuz wow someone shoulda responded to that. but jethro doesn't know what it means. :(
yeah i think erskin is like... young enough and sort of.... short-sighted enough? uneducated enough? that he's drawn a pretty crisp parallel between his situation and a helmsman's. there's one of each of them, they're vital components for making the ship be a ship, it's a life sentence, 'escape' involves a mass-murder/suicide. i think galley finds this comparison to be abjectly insulting, because erskin's still a tremendously wealthy dude with a lot more freedoms (and who has access to a lot more sex and cake), and escape is more of an option for erskin. but, eh. galley finds a lot of things to be abjectly insulting. he is a grumpus.
...if Erskin is visualizing himself in this space, does his mental image of himself have one leg or two?
Don't mind me just sobbing because Elusca and Twitchy and oh my god babies I want to be a big mama bear oh no babies no one gets to hurt you >:O
In other news, I never expected to become this invested in Erskin. My first awareness of him was on Tumblr when I was mildly horrified that Jethro was pale two-timing on Maalos. And now I think Jethro and Erskin are deeply adorable, and Erskin in particular needs a hug.
Ahhh im always really pleased to hear my favorite disaster child is entertaining other people too! :D
yeah, i was bummed when his player had to bail. theoretically he still exists in 'verse, and they text each other from time to time.
Spoiler: from the navy I have been in the pits of depression for about a week, but I giggled incessantly at this line. Thank you :D
I just started learning about codes and ciphers in a class, and we just got to learning about book codes. Which made me think about Jethro's romance novels for helmsmen and also has given me the urge to reread the code-y chapters of Rule of Transformation. So, thanks @jacktrash !
