hey i just wanna say @jacktrash and @roach, you guys are great. it is so rad to watch you work together - puzzle out plot holes, get excited over each other's ideas, compromise over the thorny bits. it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that you have fun doing this. it makes me feel good about writing. :)
Wondering what people are making of the dead hunter. Cops're gonna want a statement when Bel wakes up. It seems like it should be obviously self-defense, since the hunter died of rib fractures and slit throat, and Bel's full of bullets, and also not black... ... How long would the legal situation hold them up there, even if it was self defense?
not sure, there'd have to be a hearing at least, but it happened within minnesota borders so he could go stay at his dad's place to recuperate. i'm thinking, though, once the autopsy's done and all, it'll be pretty clear that the guy was batshit and came out to kill somebody, and bel defended himself as well as an experienced combat veteran could be expected to do. probably a hearing but not a trial, just medical examiner explaining wtf, and bel and the first responders affirming their statements and stuff. i am not well-versed in criminal law, obvs, i just know what i've picked up form forensic science video courses and the more realistic crime shows.
also: "wtf, he had silver ALL OVER his shit. was he trying to, like, hunt werewolves?" "...yup he definitely did! isn't that crazy? he was totally crazy. yes."
i wanna say i get SUPER STOKED whenever i see commentary from the peanut gallery! knowing that the characters i'm writing are also entertaining and enjoyable enough for other people to be as happy as i am about them is a really good feel! i like telling stories, so it's great to hear that other people are listening, i guess! also a lot of you guys are funny and make good points about stuff. :D
maybe a born-werewolf or very early turned werewolf who was abandoned, and has spent her life in the wild, doesn't realize she's not a dog?
She'd be so unlikely to survive that situation! Wolves have short lifespans in the wild the first place, and that's without being on their own as yearlings-- teenagers. She wouldnt know how to hunt well enough to eat, and falling back on garbage and pets would get her shot.
