Does Bel still have access to the chat he was having with Galley? If he didn't get booted from the chat or anything, and can see the logs, he could just backtrack. Though Galley COULD just lock doors or whatever on the way...
hey that's actually a good point. bel could do that. of course, he's in a bunch of rough, dark, unmarked corridors and hangar spaces and the directions are kind of like 'take the next left' or 'the doorway over there by the pile of stuff.' and if bel starts trying to backtrack from the wrong starting location it won't work. so that's gonna be a real challenge. but he could.
i would personally like it if bel gave erskin something to show up and yell at him about it. it would be a little disappointing to me if he manages to sneak all the way back home before erskin wakes up.
there is absolutely no way lainey is going to be in an unpleasant part of the ship unless erskin has dragged her along to look for heat signatures, and even then she'll be cranky about it. it's a little hard to think of who he could meet down there, especially with most of the crew partying in one of the nice parks.

i think i might be wrong about that, actually. i don't even remember where i heard that from. like, i'm firmly convinced i remember multiple occasions where some kid or young lady was scolded for saying 'horrid' instead of 'horrible' bc it sounded twee, but i could not tell you the source. wodehouse maybe?
