if you're bad with needles, I might go with someone while they get a tattoo (if you haven't before) just to see if it fucks with you usually the tattoo gun is not Super obvious that there are needles I have kind of a needle phobia but it's only medical situations these days: for some reason neither blood drives OR tattoos hit that
HELLA belated, but I actually did a modified nautical star design in high school that I've always kinda wanted on my body...I'd probably do my right wrist because I have post-marriage tats planned with the gillfrond and the one I want is gonna go on my left wrist, but damn, I am digging this idea! I dunno if I'd go for blue, though...maybe lesbian flag colors? Like, varying shades of pink? For the record, the post-wedding tat ideas? Ruby's gem on my left wrist and Sapphire's on Britt's right wrist!
My next tattoo, though, is going to be an ampersand on my lower left leg, covering up a scar associated with my abuser. It'll also have a line from Ampersand by Amanda Palmer--"I'm not gonna live my life on one side of an ampersand." See, we were always a package deal of sorts--Laura AND Anna, Anna AND Laura--and I guess you could say I really was living my life on one side of an ampersand! And it really messed me up, obviously, so an affirmation like that, an assurance to myself that I'm not going down that road again, would have a really neat meaning for me. :) I actually have that one designed, but I'm on mobile so I can't share it right now. :( I also want a SU tattoo on my right thigh, covering up some nasty self-harm scars. I'm thinking Pearl's spear with a space background and stars, and the line "strong in the real way" on a ribbon wrapped around the spear, because that line is a really good empowerment thing IMO. I'm also considering getting something on my left upper arm--leaning towards a Gravity Falls thing there but I'm not sure what exactly. And I want some alien-related tattoo for sure. Maybe a flying saucer doing an alien abduction on my back? Or an alien head somewhere. Haven't decided! And I want some things related to other fandoms too, namely Pokemon and Futurama because they've been important parts of my life since childhood. And I want a Mountain Goats line ("I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me") somewhere, possibly on a forearm? Oh, and hopefully a blue canary on my chest, because TMBG. Also I really wanna get my Time tattoo embellished with what might well be my favorite Homestuck line: "You're done with dying." I got that tattoo because Aradia's arc is really inspirational and important to me--I tend to read it as an allegory for depression and recovery, and that line just hits especially hard there in the best way. I might also get a TMBG quote added to my TMBG tat; I'm leaning towards something from Good To Be Alive, or possibly "I don't want the world; I just want your half" from Ana Ng. If you're seeing a theme here, that's intentional--a bit of weirdness, a lot of nerdery, and a hefty dose of positivity and inspiration, of motivation to Keep Going.
Finally got my first tattoo last Monday! It is a bit scabby so I am not photographing it yet, but I will take some photos in a few days once it is fully healed :D It's a personal sigil that I've been drawing on my stuff and myself since late middle school, looks like a bird taking off, and it's on my thigh. I am so happy to finally have it on my body permanently.
I mean, it hurt, but I have no other frame of reference for how much tattoos hurt haha It was pretty simple, so it only took like 45 minutes.
Decided I want a crow of some sort (making things official with the Mórrígan) on my chest, but boobs + usually wearing a binder. Maybe if I decide to actually get a reduction? Or higher up, maybe. And next time mom comes out here she's taking me to get my recovery tat; a butterfly on a skull over my SH scars on my thigh.
*necros the thread* I'm having two tats (one ankle, one underboob) and i seriously want a large backpiece but 1) money 2) who's gon moisturize it for me, I'm single as fuck.
okay sooo. for refernce, the ankle tat is feather that looks tobe pierced through the skin, the underboob is serpah wing (six wing, two spread under the boobs, two folded down, two pointing up) and I would like my back tat to match thematically. Ideally, I could get folded up wings that cover more or less my entire back, with a spot over the right shoulder where the feathers look rotten away to bone, and feathers 'drifting' down the right leg to end at the ankle tat i already have, so it all would tie together.
As somebody who also wants a lorge back piece, I am glad to be cohabiting with people because that's crossed my thoughts several times how I'd take care of it if I was solo x:
is anyone interested in seeing the tats i already have? Yeeeah i would def need someone to do that for me and just.... WHOMST. I'd seriously consider going to the guy my dad got his tats at during vacation and getting my dad to help out with the tat care.
