Probably-a-bug report: From time to time, when I click to "like" a post, a new screen will pop up asking me if I'm sure I want to like this post. I wasn't aware this was such a momentous decision that it needs a dedicated confirmation page? And it doesn't happen every time, just once in a while, which is also weird. (Apologies if this has been brought up already; I skimmed the thread but only back to Aprilish.)
I don't seem to be getting any alerts for anything. Several people posted in threads that I watch, and I didn't get any alerts.
the only thing i've found to fix that is to mark all forums read after reading everything, at least once a day.
Also if you haven't checked a thread after getting an alert and new posts happen it won't give you new alerts. I don't check the dreams thread often, so I don't get alerts for it except for the first post after I check it. Which sounds obvious, but if you're following a LOT of threads you might not notice an alert and it won't give you more.
this is entirely petty and superficial, but does anyone know a way to arrange a thread's tags so they're not in alphabetical order? my labeling style is being cramped. >:P
look buddy I have distinctly seen the linear causality of your tags messed up by Kintsugi's alphabetizing so don't you start with me CHECKMATE ATHEISTS edit: I can't believe that was a thing I remembered off the top of my head what does my brain think it's doing
"challenge everything, ea games, except your critical thinking skills" it sounds like it's requesting that ea games challenge everything but its critical thinking skills. and it was real confusing when i first saw it. like, "why, swirl, do you want ea games to challenge everything but its critical thinking skills? ... oh, right. got it. it's a play on their slogan."
oh! I didn't realize that technically that could be a parenthetical appositive... whoops... I saw that and thought that Swirl had typed "#ea games #challenge everything #except your critical thinking skills" originally (or maybe with the EA games tag last instead of first... regardless), and then the software reorganized it and messed it up a little. "ea games" innately reads to me as though it was meant as an informational tag, not an address to the company itself, whereas "challenge everything" and "except your critical thinking skills" are obviously part of the same thought. that's what I would mean if I wrote that, anyway. so, uh, checkmate atheists? I guess? also that reminds me: it's also annoying how it automatically makes the entire tag lowercase, so is there a workaround for that, too?
Tragically checkmated. :') It was a sarcastic thing meant to say "EA Games: Challenge Everything. Except your critical thinking skills, because goodness some of the bs EA gets into." I didn't notice the order at the time I posted it, and didn't think of a reorder to get what I wanted.
i forgot to mention that i then concluded that my initial interpretation of it was dumb and didn't make any sense, and that i stopped believing it was accurate on about the same day i came up with that interpretation. so, no, i was not putting that forth as what it might actually have meant. i was just explaining how i had initially parsed it and how confusing it was.
The sign up form isn't working, and according to a friend, neither is the link you get in an email to reset your password. what you see when you press sign up: edit: it redirects to the login form when you remove that second /login, but there is no way to get to the sign up form through normal means edit 2: it appears to be a URL/redirect issue rather than a "this feature is non-existent" one
That feature never worked intentionally. This forum doesn't save emails, so it can't email you with a reset link. The person in question can contact Seebs to get it reset
hm? that's weird - it sent my friend an email, but it was a broken link. same error as what i posted above. but alright. they figured it out tho
Surprising and interesting! Now I need to try signing up an account with a random email to see if I get one too.
