truly it is time..... for me to don the face....... of metalhawk................ (not actually, I'm still way too attached to OOG starscream :ppp)
(Also, for data purposes: home network lags a bit and school network lags a bit, so it definitely carries over outside the house and across computers--there's a loading period between hovering over the alert notification and alerts appearing. When reloading a page, I get the background colors, then the first ~5 or so posts, and then posts loading in by 5 or 10 at a go depending on the amount of pictures in the posts, then the logo and usually any icons that hadn't loaded. The reply box loads last. It ranges between a couple seconds and almost half a minute depending on the video/picture load on the page.)
So this is less a bug/feature request and more a curiosity that I don't know where else to post regarding an existing feature: When you delete a post and it asks you "Reason for Deletion", where does this actually go? I've never heard anything from a moderator citing seeing one of these, though I do think they may be able to see some deleted posts or something. I was wondering if they're viewable to anyone, if they're something like an optional feature you can see on a deleted post only visible to mods, if they get kicked straight to only admins, or if they're some dummied out feature of Xenforo Seebs can't totally remove so it just redirects into some subforum of auto-reports no one has access to.
As far as I can tell, only admins are able to access them. I've never been able to see a deleted post myself, and I think it would probably be hard to miss if it was somewhere in the interface. And I think admins might have to go actively digging for the deleted material, as opposed to it just showing up as ghost content on the site, though that's just speculation on my part.
"reason for deletion" is visible in the admin-tier interface. i think i can actually set mods to see and undelete things, maybe? it's inconsistent. so if i'm looking in a thread, deleted posts look like "this post was deleted by [user], reason: [reason]".
There's still an issue with the favicon being loaded insecurely. For some reason, browsers seem to be loading it (or not without manual intervention, in the case of Chrome) from http://kintsugi.seebs.net/favicon.ico instead of https.
Hmm. Actually, it's not quite that as it turns out. What's going on is, the browser requests the favicon at the HTTP URL, and gets a temporary redirect to the HTTPS version (which contains the actual favicon and is cached here), instead of a permanent one. That's interesting.
HTML: <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="https://kintsugi.seebs.net/styles/default/xenforo/logo.og.png" /> <link rel="icon" href="http://kintsugi.seebs.net/favicon.ico"> <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS feed for Kintsugi" href="forums/-/index.rss" /> Ah, there's the reason it does the thing. This is probably fixable in admin settings?
(Also, the apple-touch icon thing is probably the reason why mobile browsers show the default XenForo favicon.)
Surprisingly hard, because the link is apparently hard-coded in a template, not a setting, but I found it now. Thanks! Also I rebuilt some caches and posts that were appearing out of order should be better now.
I don't! This is probably because of the number of tabs I have open rather than anything else, though. I should probably close some of these. Like, at least five. Maybe six, but I don't wanna go crazy.
