I don't know if this is browser/my computer thing or what, but I've been getting an odd, not world-ending bug where when I click on a thread in Watched Threads, sometimes when it takes me to the last post it also puts in a giant chunk of blank space between that post and the page numbers/text box at the bottom of the page. Sometimes if I click around on other windows, the space disappears and the page jolts back into the right length, sometimes it doesn't. It's not happening every time I open a thread, but it is happening consistently at least once a day. Desktop, Brave browser. Spoiler: look! space!
same thing happened to me a couple times recently. usually refreshing the page fixes it, but it's a weird one. (desktop, chrome browser)
I haven’t had that problem yet myself, on either mobile (iOS, Safari) or desktop (Mac, Chrome), but that’s SUPER weird. Especially weird that it doesn’t seem to be happening especially consistently?
bunch of threads arent showing up in the http://kintsugi.seebs.net/find-new/posts page. i guess all the private forums and i guess to keep them off the new posts widget on the front page but i had no idea any of them were getting replies because it never occurred to me to check individual subforums for new posts
if you're logged in, private forums should show up there. try clicking the 'watch thread' button at the top of threads you want to keep track of, and using the 'watched threads' link just under the header. but yeah, that sounds buglike to me.
that would mean watching most of the forums threads individually and checking for new threads to watch all the time anyway. i tried watching forums and subforums but that didnt work in a way i can use. but yeah threads arent showing up even tho im logged in
aether that's probably the weird bug where there's like, 2 metadata standards or something and phones and some cameras use one and the web uses another? its not a forum bug unless the NZ government sites somehow coincidentally have the same bug because it affected my passport photos take your picture, rotate it to landscape, save, and rotate back to portrait and save again. its metadata is now fixed.
It's definitely a universal issue because of the metadata of the photo. Like how windows photo viewer will show the picture as normal, but when you open it up in photoshop it'll be rotated or vice versa.
went to check the site just now and the little notification bubble thing says I have 4 alerts, but only 2 are actually showing up in the popup menu and alerts page. I don't have any people or threads or anything ignored. I'm on the most recent version of firefox afaik.
I keep on getting "we're having trouble finding that server" errors, and Kintsugi is generally slower to load for me than other sites. happens on both my laptop and my phone. I use Firefox on both devices and have the accounts synced together, if that matters. this has been happening for a few months and it's not deathly horrible or anything but it is getting kind of annoying :P
is anyone else getting that? i haven't noticed any difference between kintsugi and other text-based sites like, say, ao3, but that doesn't mean it's not a thing.
for me it's been consistent over the past, I dunno, six months? maybe more? it gets worse occasionally but this site is always slower to load than others. I just never actually got around to reporting it until now :P is there any chance I could have been put on discourage by accident?
you are not on discourage, i just checked for you. (i mean, nobody should be on discourage, we've decided not to use that feature. but i checked anyway to be sure.)
