"Nuh uh. It's you. You are the cutest in the land, it is decided. You are cuter than tiny cacti. Which are super adorable."
"Tiny cacti are super adorable, but you know what else is really cute, like, even cuter than tiny cacti? Little baby bunnies. And you are even cuter than them," Adara informed Larkspur, grinning. This was a very silly conversation, and she was loving it.
"What's cuter than baby bunnies? Pug puppies. Which you are way cuter then." This was the goofiest conversation Lark had had in a while. It was great.
"Hmmmm, yes, but even cuter than them are wolf puppies--they're little adorable fuzzy floofs! And you are far cuter than them." Adara giggled.
"I'm going to shut up before I say something dumb like that I want to kiss you and oh shit fuck I'm going to leave now goodbye," Jack babbled, and turned to flee.
"Okay, but cuter than wolf puppies? Baby fennec foxes. The ears, seriously! And you are far cuter than them."
"No wait!" Auden said, "I want to kiss you to! Don't go away." He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Chase after them?
"Oh my gosh, they are adorable. The ears just kill me. But even cuter than them is little baby munchkin cats, with their tiny stubby legs. Natural mutations are amazing. But you are even cuter than them!"
Jack stopped moving. "Oh." They turned back to face Auden and thought for a moment. "Um. Should we...could we...?"
"Okay, but what about cows that have been shampooed and blow dried? They're so fluffy! And you are even cuter than them."
"Okay, but baby alpacas. Adorable, tiny alpacas that are all fluff and legs. You are cuter than them."
"Tiny, tiny sheeplings. Little baby lambs. That are nothing but legs and little fuzzy fluff, with those slightly-too-big-ears. And you are way, way cuter than them."
"Okay, that is very cute. Piglets, though. In little rain jackets. Which are still not as cute as you."
"Hmmmm....okay, that's too cute for words. But picture a tiny little hedgehog, all curled up in a little ball, fast asleep. That is adorable. And yet, you are still much cuter."
"Little chipmunk babies. All snuggled up together. And they aren't nearly as cute as you." As she said that, the food began to arrive.
"....dang it, I'm hungry and out of ideas. You win. For now." Adara smiled a bit and then took a little bite of her calzone. "What do you have?"
